Create A Comic Style Logo with Illustrator

In this tutorial I'll be demonstrating how you can create a comic book-style logo with Adobe Illustrator. The logo design will utilize an action-style bubble with a halftone background.

Hi - first off, I find your videos very helpful & am halfway through your Affinity Designer Master Class & I love it. I'm wondering if this one can be done in Affinity - thought it would be easy, but the half tone segment is giving me grief. Is there a way to make this same thing happen w/these results in AD?

How do you get the nodes when you select the star to pull out to the shape? I do not have the nodes when I select the star with the direct tool. Do I have to activate something?
