Is there any reason why we couldn’t just create an image, with say Acronis or Clonezilla, run sysprep, then just restore that same image to a different computer?

In Clonezilla, you will have to boot through Clonezilla ISO. In this method, you directly create a bootable image of the windows running system.

Nice image creation instructions. I think it would be nice though to explain the oscdimg strings instead of just cut/pasting. OSCDIMG is very convoluted, especially the #p vars

Thank you. A question thou. How do you have 3 partitions? you created specially for the image or the sysprep make this by default? and these partitions will apear in the image that we create? I don't want to have them after.

sysprep doesn't create any partition. I have three partitions in my system. Final ISO will have the partition which you select during creation. I have selected C drive for final ISO creation.

@lTechBox Thank you. Unfortunately, sysprep give me error, cannot validate windows. Did exactly the steps. i tried to fix it with tricks found online, nothing worked. I needed this for work, because i receive this task, to make an image implementing our apps inside, so we dont need to install all the time. But is not working.

Do not understand, why do you login to Windows after Sysprep and before WIM? System will create a new system ID and the sysprep part becomes obsolete

sysprep is actually required to remove the HDD footprint from the OS image.

Why when i launch disk part and list volhow come i don't see the letter c and any other letter...i see C letter in other usb pen drive, it's possible to fix it? I think it's not possible to do this already with the account connected to a domain, right?

Drive letters shown in diskpart would be different from actual ones. Thatswhy I had renamed drives for identification purposes.

Hi, why i have to delete all the account except the local administrator? After installing on another pc, when you add a user, some programs are not displayed for that user, how i can solve??

Before running sysprep you have to delete all user accounts. Once sysprep execution is completed, you can create the users whichever you want in your ISO as pre-created users.

@@domenico3215 During any app installation you will get options like "for this app only" or "for all users". You need to select "for all users" if you want app to available for other users also.

@@calumspeed8634 For the Device ID change I have one separate video. This process is only for making image out of the running system. You can explore PowerShell to set the hostname as serial number.

Seems you have a pending upgrade. Go to run-->regedit then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\ and on the right side delete registry with the name "upgrade".

Hi Sir, If we follow this method then if in future I want to add new applications to it then do I have to go through the whole process again? If so then do you have any solution to this situation? I want to create a customise windows image. It should work in the following way. Like we have to install all the programs we want at once while installing the Windows. For this I want to create a folder in the directory where all the windows installation setup files would be present, eg. Create a Directory "Custom Apps" and put all the application installers in it, so that the windows installation image can install all the applications automatically along with the New Windows Installation. Could you please help me with this?? If the situation is unclear then could you please provide me your email so that I can explain better with Images.

If you install any new software in the source system you will have to repeat the same procedure to get the final iso out of it.

Seems your windows got corrupted. Manually go to system32 folder and check sysprep.exe is present or not?

Yes, I think. If you don't want this, you can move pagefile.sys to another drive.

@@VirtualTechBox “powercfg -h off” turn off hyberfil. For pagefile i just turned it off completely and it worked. 32GB RAM should be enough anyway I guess. :)
