In this tutorial, we are going create an Excel application to run SQL queries in Excel.
Alright, so this is a tool I created a long time when I was working in the banking industry. I pictured that today there would be a similar, improved tool which would allow you to write SQL queries against your Excel data, but I guess not.

THANK YOU! It's been a few years since I tried using SQL with vba in Excel, I had forgotten how. Tried the new Power Query stuff - but yuck. About ready to drop into Access and integrate between it and Excel. You saved me many hours of work. Interestingly, looks like you just posted it today, wow, what luck. All my fault. Your workbook worked fine. The first attempt, where I had to change the code for it to work was because my connection string was slightly different from yours. I copied and pasted the connection string from your workbook to the one I was using for the tute and replaced with the original code and it is now all good. I will buy you another coffee.

Hi Jie Jenn Thank you. The Excel workbook was in spam. I have marked both messages as "Not Spam. I was trying to run the test sub " QueryExcel ("SELECT * FROM [Customers$]") and the error occured at rst.open. I ran the workbook that you sent me unaltered just now and I got the same error. My version is Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2019.
