Create clean star trails

You can create star trails from a single exposure, but it can be risky and complicated to process. In this tutorial, you'll learn why combining several shorter exposures is often a better approach to create star trails and two ways to do it.

Hi Greg. Really enjoyed this. I hadn't realised that I could use the Lumenzia Basics panel for a sky layer mask ! I'll use that all the time now ! Many thanks for sharing.

Super handy, and it does more than the default option in PS as you can make it work with all layers (blended image), not just the active layer.

@@gregbenzphotography Funny enough, same thing happened when I was in Joshua Tree and I photographed Penguin rock and the tree and then a couple of days later you released the video about removing dust spots. Something's going on here! ahah

Various options with luminosity selections. You can also use the "Sky" button in the Lumenzia Basics panel.

Hey Greg, excellent video! I have 1 question though, when I go to stamp visible like you do at 8:00 I get horrible banding in the stamped layer. Do you have any idea why this would be happening and how I could prevent it? Thanks

There shouldn’t be any banding when creating a flattened layer (often it helps get rid of false banding actually). Feel free to send me a screenshot showing before and after with the layers visible

@@gregbenzphotography yeah that's what I thought 🤔 I'm going to try and reload the images into PS and restart the process 😅 if it still is having issues I'll send you the before and after. Where is the best place for me to send them to?
