This is fantastic! I've always wanted to do custom billboards, habitat education, zoo maps... this isn't the end-all-be-all tool, but it opens doors to doing things I never really imagined I could!

As a huge fan of using Canva for streaming and content creation, I have surprisingly never used it for my Planet Zoo images! Seriously, thank you so much for this! Your tutorials are among my number one resources for PZ content right now! ❤❤

Canva was one of the best discoveries I made several years ago. Love that website! Use it for sooo much stuff.

I'd never used it before, I'm normally in Photoshop but I'd heard good things and wanted a free tool for the tutorial. It is very good for simple stuff like this, so easy to use!

I was just about to comment on you capitalizing that C in Capucinus, but luckily you were quick to mention it yourself. I have a bad habit of doing that mistake myself when it goes too fast. I guess it is because it feels like writing a first and last name. Great tutorial, I use Canva for signs as well. Nice and easy program

Haha i can't believe I did that! I always do it automatically and then correct it but the one time I'm making a video I leave it in 😆 I use Photoshop to make mine but I thought Canva was better for a tutorial as PS is overkill for this!

@@ZSHplays I imagine PS is better, but haven't really decided if I want to invest in it. I usually use PowerPoint for some of the things I can't do in the free version of Canva, like removing image backgrounds and such.

Informative TY, I wonder if you have a solution to this problem that I have often, as an example a logo which is round wants to put into a square billboard and then attached to a building. Jersey Mikes subs would be an example. The background around the round logo wants to match the building color so it blends in and you will see it only the round logo part. Tried many ways, but using the same hex code on the canva background and the building color and they never match. I've tried using color picker in canva on a image imported into canva of the building color and they still don't match. Really frustrated at this aspect. Any suggestions?

Thanks Ray! I don't have a quick solution to that I'm afraid, it would literally be trial and error. Colour matching billboards is impossible to do automatically due to the way PZ handles the billboards. They are affected by the games lighting engine so the colours are kinda random.

@@ZSHplays Thanks for the feedback, having done graphics work on the side you really don't get a quality output from this. The designs I create in Canva are high quality and instead of WYSIWYG in Planet Zoo you get something looking half a---ed. Your right the lighting totally screws up the look and results.

Is there a way to change the language of the text on certain objects and audio. For example, all of my default animal signs are in Spanish as well as the voice audio coming from shops. I don't recall it being this way when i first played the game

@@ZSHplays yeah i've looked everywhere but there doesn't appear to be a way to change the language set for signs and decor. Oh well, at least the rest of the stuff i got is in english. just wasn't sure if that was changeable or not

Quick question: is there a way to fix the washed out / super bright coloring that doesn’t require photoshop? I’ve been messing with the brightness on the regular Windows picture editor and tried to darken the images in FireAlpaca. I’ve saved images (both edited and not) as JPEG and PNG but nothing is working. No matter what I try, all usermedia inserted images are always too bright or washed out when added to the game on all billboards/education boards 😔

I would assume lowering the colour curves and re-saving in any editor would work but, I only use Photoshop for it

In my game, the edited image, even using the original as a base, is always VERY bright and all weird, and washed out. Does anyone have any method to improve this. PS: I'm using canva and following exactly as the video teaches.

Weird, this happens when I use photoshop but not canva. The solution is to lower the brightness on the image before saving it. If it looks too dark in your 8mage program it will look fine in game

Happens to me too sadly. Couldn’t find a solution 😢this also happens when u replace it with the already available ingame pics, like u mentioned. Tried to darken the picture aswell, but color informations getting lost this way

@@ZSHplays I darken the image and the it just looks odd. The colors are all messed up and the shading is horrendous. Could you possibly help?

@@valor8195 You need a high quality image to begin with so it has enough colour information to retain it when darkened. Make sure you save as a PNG rather than a JPG as well to keep the quality.

why when i put the billboard in my zoo the image is bright and fuzzy

Open it in windows picture viewer, save a copy and use the copy. I don't know why but that fixes it. If it doesn't just reduce the brightness in Canva/Photoshop

Hi so I know this is a bit of an old video, but I wanted to make a sign for an animal that doesn't currently exist, and it doesn't seem to appear in the folders. Could I possibly overlay the infographic on an existing material and have it pop up there?

@@ZSHplays Yeah sorry I didn't really say it very well. What I was trying to do was make an info sign for an animal that didn't have a picture file in the game (A giant isopod) and was wondering if I could use a pre-existing info picture and just hide it behind the custom one?

According to you tube studio "Notifications can't reach subscribers who disabled notifications on the KZfaq app or signed out." Maybe check those settings?
