✅ VIDEO SUMMARY
To transform the opacity of a layer in Adobe After Effects, simply select the correct layer using the Selection Tool and then press the letter "T" on your keyboard to bring up the Opacity properties. You can then create a keyframe by pressing on the small grey stopwatch, which should turn blue and create an initial keyframe. Then move you Current Time Indicator slightly further along and create a new keyframe by adjusting the Opacity value. Opacity is measured in percentages from 100% being fully visible and 0% being fully transparent.
To make your animation more interesting, you can also use the wiggle() expression. Simply hold Option (or Alt for Windows) on your keyboard and press on the Opacity stopwatch. Then input "wiggle()" into the expression input field and add two numbers. Firstly, the frequency (how many times per second you want to make a change) and then the amplitude (the range of values in which you want the opacity to change). More information in the video!
