The first method actually is super simple if you've been toying in blender and making progress in a few weeks. If youve done a donut w/ sprinkles, then youve already done half the work. The shaders is where it gets a little tricky

I'm actually pretty proud of myself. A month ago I would've seen the first part of the tutorial and fucking lost my shit and slowed it down to 0.25x speed. Quarantine has gotten me to a comfortable skill level in Blender and now I can see it's pretty normal stuff. Thanks for this, this was super entertaining to learn from. EDIT: holy shit this is the best way to learn. I'm tripping balls that I could follow that so easily and gather the important new information and understand it well enough to easily implement it. you are a king. EDIT 2: aw well it transitioned into the best ad ever I guess but now I have to check if you do that again in your other videos. it was fun while it lasted.

For real, the 80s micromachine commercial version is super helpful. I don't mess with particles much but I have gone through essentially that process before. Slowing it down by like 25% and pausing now and then, I was able to reconfigure it exactly as you had and it saved me a lot of time for my particular setup. Dope 👐👐

i cannot even put in words how fricken thankful i am for this "blender on crack" tutorial movement and especially ian [hubert]. my mind is constantly jumping, 10 minutes into blender guru i'll probably start doing something entirely different. i could watch through all of ian's talk at blendercon tho :D this, i can just ABSORB (which is not just because it's fast, both ian's and cg matter's are very well written, to be as concise as possible, but still entertaining.) this right here is really working with a modern attention span. and who's to say that a short attention span is worse if you can get half an hour's worth of explaining ( if you value it by what i will go do afterwards/during ) into 5 minutes but not the other way round. longer videos that go in-depth, like blender guru and gleb alexandrov, or cg geek etc, now become more entertaining to me because i can pick up more details and valuable background information (blender guru is stronk here), since i already have the whole entire thing mapped out in my head without having even touched it. i can learn blender in lunchbreak what timeline is this?? anyways, hail ton. and thank you, cg matter. this already made grass life easier.

Hello im still new to particles, i have a question with the color of the grass. Do we select the grass object itself to give it color? because selecting the "ground" and giving it material only gives the plane itself color, not the particle... also with the "From Instances" box in Texture coordinates. I cannot replicate the effect in the video where a few patches of grass with the secondary bright yellow color, it seems to affect every grass particle object.
@kazmaBlends4 жыл бұрын
could not replicate the from intances...but yeah the material should be added to the grass patch and it would reflect the change in the particle system

I used to like this some time ago. Helping out Blender newbies. But that all changed quickly. To a point where he said he didn't care much for those who couldn't keep up with the speed he used to create these tuts. He actually said that in a video once. I am a newbie and i love Blender and i love people that love Blender and know how to teach and help others. So for this reason i chose to not follow CGMatter anymore. Apart from that, we don't need someone to try to be Ian Hubert because A) Ian Hubert actually knows what he is doing, not just on a professional level, but on a teaching level as well and B) Ian Hubert is the master of Blender and isn't trying to be someone else, which is what i am sensing here and C) (Yes, there is a C), the Lazy Tutorials and how Ian presents it with the speed that he does isn't a trend, it's Ian's thing, so don't go and copy it, create your own style.
