Medicat which (I believe) uses Ventoy ... on portable USB drives (x3) which I rotate for whole-house backups.

Yes for sure. I have a bunch of Recover USB Sticks made with Ventoy with me as Computer Tech. I also have created a 2 TB external USB Drive with all my different Linux ISOs. Great Video as usual. Greetings from Germany

Dont forget, if you use a roomy HDD or SSD for Ventoy you can set free space after the Ventoy partition using the Ventoy installer. Having other partition is better for storing software, SO images, backups, and tbe same Ventoy utility to "update" Ventoy again if it got corrupted without deleting anything. Also other partitions are not scanned for ISOs, so it saves boot time.

@@Britec09Hello Brian, I need your help obtaining an I/O shield for an AsRock ASUS motherboard. I've found one already on eBay, however it is in Berlin, Germany and they don't ship to the USA. I've searched and searched and searched other eBay sellers and cannot find one for the specific model of motherboard. Your help would be appreciated in ordering the I/O shield from the store in Berlin and then shipping it to me here in the USA if you are willing to help. Thank you in advance. Good stuff.. I have a few USB3 ultraflairs that I reserve for images, they are small and neat but a word of warning they can get very very hot - I still use my old 128GB Mushkin Ultra that have had for years for this sort of thing.. its big and heavy but its fast and dependable as its really an SSD in a heavy black usb stick

Brian as usual great video, once I open Hirens I can't see my c:/ drive. Trying to clone external ssd to hard drive, one operator showed doing it in Hirens looked easy enough but not if c: \isni't there

I tried one of these and it didn't work because of some minor operator error. I'm pretty experienced, having built many a PC from scratch and I hobby code. My advice: always do a "dry run' of these USB sticks and see if it works.

i added win 10/11 drivers folder to root for intel RST F6 VMD and Non-VMD if nvme SSD is not detected in setup but it is in bios on 2020+ computers. another good thing of the win pe is they have remote control programs and an advanced tech could help them backup files or fix partitions or boot issue.

Someone once told me 1 is none, and 2 is 1 and they are correct. If your only one drive dont work you got a back up to rescue that drive. lolz I got like 3 drives for Ventoy. I have had it to where I accidentally deleted one during a Linux install and selected the wrong drive i was glad to have my raspberry pi to redownload things my since my main pc was down after accidental wipe. I should update my drives now. Now i do my linux and windows testing on a hp t350 and Vm ware.

You need Windows OS iso files, WinPE iso plenty to choose from, Kaspersky Rescue CD iso and possible backup & restore iso. This is really all you need. I did mention in the video.

I have a question-and I must emphasize that I am NOT a computer expert - now, I have a full backup of my entire C: drive on my external disk (made using Acronis), and I have a USB with Acronis software that I can run from boot menu. Do I need this USB that you are talking about since I can restore my entire C: drive from backup? Thank you so much!

Might this extraordinarily lengthy and detailed video be intended specifically for "professionals"? It's so complicated negotiating the "maze" of (for me) "meaningless" pages that I keep getting lost. Why can't just two or three actions be sufficient? That would be "easy", "simple", "straightforward" or "intuitive", or any number of other euphemisms so liberally used in connection with computers to give a temporary, false sense of confidence.

Hey Brian, I've downloaded windows 11 ISO and when I try to copy it over toy ventoy drive it gives me a warning. " The file Win11_22H2_English_x64v2.iso has properties that can't be copied to the new location." What can I do for a work around. Thanks John

Nevermind, sitting there after I posted this I just went ahead and redownloaded it to the ventoy drive. Great video by the way as some of the others commented I too would like to learn how to make a DaRT10 recovery ISO. I started some research and I got lost and confused. Thanks again for your videos.

You need to create a image of your system with pre installed apps. just keep in mind some apps may not work if installing on a new machine.

Here is a problem someone might be able to solve: 1. I create a bootable ISO file by joining DVDs 1, 2, 3, 4 of Toshiba windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit. 2. I burn a copy on a USB flash drive and install Windows 7 Home 64 Bit with no problem or questions asked. 3. I put a copy of the same ISO on a USB flash drive running Ventoy and it starts fine, but eventually asks me to "SET DISK and PRESS ENTER to continue". That's the end of it. Installation fails. 👺👺👺

Ventoy is brilliant and easy to use. It's banned at my workplace unfortunately as it originates from China and is open source.

To be honest most people that have Windows issues do not know what they are doing! Linux a different animal most Windwos users have no idea what it is! The theme thing pointless for me but nice video. Does not help me as I know what I am doing but great for other people well done!
