Remember they pay him to lead, not to read. Sometimes I wonder if it would hurt him to spend that extra 5 seconds reading just so we didn't have to rip our dix off all video. But counter argument, it's just a game. So disregard everything I just said

To be fair, that UI is pretty poor at making it clear more Turrets are actively available. Especially in survivor-likes, it's hard to check tiny numbers but especially compared to how massive the cooldown indicator is making it seem like that's the only thing that matters. That's one of those things that's VERY forgivable in a demo as it's the type of feedback that's worth sharing to help make the final game better.

Did that On Kill heal 0.2hp just not work or is it mistakenly labelled for healing 0.02? Looked like Tom wasn't ever getting anything, unless this game rounds down for some dumb reason

16:50 That upgrade does not seem to work. You easily killed 10-20 enemies afterwards before being hit and did not get a single HP. Nor did you get a single HP any time after.

I'd guess that the game just rounds the 0.2hp to 0 as the hp isn't stored as a decimal value or something like that

Clip holds bullets like a money clip (garand comes to mind) Magazine are the enclosed ones on modern guns

Tom has a stock of 4 turrets with like a 20 sec cooldown, uses like 1 per minute if that

Kinda half disappointed that 99% of the upgrades are just % upgrades, no new abilities or procs or features. The gun you have at the end of the game is basically the same but higher RoF and damage, not much else. Where's the fun ammo types (beyond explosive and ice)? Where's the wacky features like homing / splitting bullets / spawning stuff on impact etc? Still very hard for any game like this today to beat Alien Shooter.

The clip helps load a magazine. The magazine is loaded into the gun.

I really like the enemy sprite design in this and visual readability of the game. The monsters being primarily cyclopean, and the little animations make them really easy to track even when it gets chaotic as well as feeling rather unique and simple. The muted tone of the background helps a bunch to let the enemies stand out, but especially when they get the glowing borders when the tough ones show up. Even the running trail makes it super easy to track where you're at when you're moving faster as those abilities can often just be a way to out yourself in more danger. Super curious ta see how this one continues to develop!

Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1508 OOO, now this is a cool Survivorlike, really love the aspect of the gun building, adds that really nice and creative level of customisation with builds and such :D Know this is just the demo is also fun, I do hope we return with the full game as I would love more and the full thing :D Really loving how the Turrets keep and use past gun builds, always love a Summoning ability, and the adition of that is just real fun. Also, fucking amazing how when you die it's the gun that gets saved, not you XD

If dev's executives on the AAA end want to give us half baked stuff the devs have to bug fix for a year, I think devs should get out a living demo like this or lean into Early Access like this game and others do. It only benefits the dev/gamer relationship overall. I can't tell you how many idiots I've seen called out in the community feeds of Starship Troopers: Extermination over changes they're making throughout early access in accordance with their public roadmap. We all do our part by laughing at those fools and offering meaningful criticism and feedback. 🫡
