Really great comparison video Pete. I’m not gonna lie at first I wasn’t sold on it looking as good as the 2k clear but then when you flipped the spoon over that’s what sold me on. Seems like a great option for the price, clean up, and storage of it. I’m really considering going to airbrush next year so this would be a great option for me as well. 😃👍🏻

Thank you. Yes sir. And you add more layers to get it even more glossy and a buildup like the 2k. Thanks for watching

Great educational video sir it’s hard to beat the shine of lacquer base paint but looks like it would b a great alternative is a person didn’t want to use lacquer base stuff definitely easier on the airbrush though 🤘👊

I started using the High Gloss UVLS for all my customs now. It takes a lot of coats to get a build up like 2k clear. But Its so much easier to work with and doesnt stink up my entire garage and house. Have to make sure decals are dry for 24 hours or they will fold up. Overall its a great water based clear!!!

Thanks for all the info. About how many coats are you using? Thanks for watching

@@OldManDiecast For it to get as thick as 2k you need like 20 coats or more. I usually do around 5 or so. I also use a food dehydrater to cut down on the drying time.

Well Pete that’s no help 😂 lol I may buy some to try out. The cleanup is very appealing. I get 2k clear with activator for 24 so considering what a 2-4 oz bottle at 6.00 vs qt of 2k for 24.00 it maybe cheaper or same for me to do 2k. But 2k is nasty compared to uvls.

Buff the cured 4053 with a little Meguiar"s PlasticX and the difference is even less.

Hello Pete, can you please tell me which 2k product and which activator you have used in this video? Thanks in advance!
@OldManDiecast Жыл бұрын
Hello there. It is just a high gloss 2k auto clear coat I got off Ebay. Like $50 for a quart and the activator. I will not be getting it again because it is hard for me to store it and half of the activator leaked out during shipping. I will be using this from Diecast Graveyard . Affordable, and just the right size for me. diecastgraveyard.com/shop/ols/products/diecast-graveyard-2k-clear-coat-and-hardener Thanks for watching
