In this video I'll teach you step by step how to create drop shadows with blur for all sorts of shapes in Canva like rectangles, squares, circles, etc.
You will need Canva Pro to do this hack because you need to use "Transparent Background".
Canva is a powerful and free design tool that everybody can use to create beautiful visuals.

I'm flabbergasted that Canva hasn't implemented a simple drop shadow for shapes. It's such a basic need for SO much graphic design.

I think, we can also make the rectangle full-screen size and download, right? (For non-pro people) And then crop it to our desired size when we put it as an image...

if you don't have canva for work, you can use lunapic to have transparent background

Its not working for me... I have the transparent background but it gets all black instead of blurry. does it has to do anything with the amount of pixels?

Me too sadly. It blurs the image but there is no shadowy effect. Did you manage to figure out what the problem was?

If you have Pro, you could export your circle frame as a PNG with transparent background, then re-upload it to Canva (it will now be an image), and apply a shadow (Glow) to create a glowing effect.

In the place where you have the "apps" i have 3 dots and i cant find there "Transparent backround"

You can just copy the rectangle or add another and change it to black. No need for Canva Pro :)

correct, but if you want it blurred that's when Pro will become handy

yyou know you can just use the blur effect right!!! just duplicate until its correct

As far as I know the blur effect doesn't work on shapes! Only on photos :)

Hmmm unfortunately the edges stay "hard" and nothing is blurred so that it looks like a shadow...

Have you actually exported the shape with a transparent BG and re-uploaded it to Canva?
