‪@TashiMannox683‬ creates the Mani mantra of lovingkindness brushed in the classical Tibetan Uchen script.
Each of the six syllables of the mantra is pronounced oṃ ma ṇi pad me hūṃ and explained in meaning:
The syllable oṃ that purifies Pride
The syllable ma that purifies Jealousy
The syllable ṇi that purifies Desire
The syllable peh that purifies Stupidity
The syllable me that purifies Poverty
The syllable hūṃ that purifies Hatred

I only just began learning Tibetan yesterday, and I'm multitasking by only using my left hand(weaker hand) for the letters. It'd be a miracle to ever get writing nice like that

You would find it easier using your right hand, the Tibetan written language is for the right hand only

Sir, you wrote so so beautiful Uchen calligraphy. I like to purchase a calligraphy brush for writing Tibetan letter as you writing. So which calligraphy brush is the best for writing? I saw many in online but I got confused. Please guide
@TashiMannox683
@TashiMannox683 4 жыл бұрын
LUDUP GYATSO Hello Ludup Gyatso la, a flat square brush is needed for best results with writing Uchen. The technique is a little different from using a pen because a brush is so much softer and pliable, there is little resistance as the hard edge of a pen nib.

Happy to know that you liked Tibetan calligraphy. It is said that Kőrösi Csoma Sándor is the first person who edited Tibetan-English dictionary. Magyar Posta even issued a postal stamp to commemorate him in 1984.

Very nice! I see that you draw dots between the symbols and a vertical line at the end. Are they necessary? I often see the inscription without them. What do they mean?
@petagonkyi
@petagonkyi 5 жыл бұрын
Dots are the punctuation (space between 2 words) marks. Dots break syllable and also word. The long vertical line represents the end of a sentence - Fullstop.

The "na" is reversed, "padme" is considered as only one morpheme, OK.
@TashiMannox683
@TashiMannox683 4 жыл бұрын
It is always a reversed na in the spelling of this mantra. It relates to its origin of Sanskrit, where this reversed na indicates it is pronounced harder and shorter.
