I also majorly kitbashed my swarmlord with an elevated base and have him fighting amongst 3 spacemarines. Absolutely love the Swarmy!

My first thought for needing a base and having guard sprues was "what if you assembled the turret?" like, have him jumping onto the gun, which could act as a secondary support for the model itself as well as create that sensation of the big guy being mid-leap *onto* something.

About to realize how far 3d printing has come and how it can be better the GW. I've gotten greater deamons that look identical just in more dynamic poses for $30 instead of the outrageous $140.

Iv been 3d printing some of my own figures recently and found that the detail in 3rd party designed minis seems to be much better than official gw models.

Absolutely love the colour scheme. Kinda gives me a jungle Xenomorph vibe and it’s awesome!

Brother, you are beautiful. Also your paint job was badass, some things that are pretty fun to try In the future when it comes to basing. Try using cork that you can tear up and then cut with the hobby knife to make look like big rocks, and you can use the back end on your hobby knife to move miliput around to sculpt it to be rocks or blood or whatever youre looking for and also if you’re looking for a nice glue to help fill in gaps in any models you have look up how to make Spru goo.

My hobbying has taken a back foot atm maybe a little bit of fatigue but whenever i see a tyranid model so well done makes me want too grab a couple of the new nids and get painting.

That turned out excellent! Kitbashing Marines isn't that hard since many pieces are compatible, but going for a creature like a Tyranid is a few steps higher and you nailed it.

Mann I love the pose! That came out really well! Milliput is water soluble too, so you can literally make it into a paste for gap filling or thin it to any consistency etc.

Well done sir! I like the Norn/Tyrant hybrid chest piece you used. Suits the Swarmlord well, and brings out the specialness in him. 😉 I just recently magnetized mine to be a Flying and ground Tyrant. Counter sunk the magnets and even the hip, so all i really needed was a second 60mm base. All in all he has 15 magnets build into him, his torso is filled with Milliput. And with his large wings he is deffinitely going to be the heaviest model i have in my collection. I reckon when his base is finished, he weighs easily more than 2 Norns. I will weigh him in the future to see if my guess turns out to be true. ^^ Took me 6 hours so far, just the putty work, cleaning, glueing and magnetizing. Its work that deffinitely needs focus in order to not ruin your model, but i gotta say, a clean magnetization work is hands down one of the most satisfying things in the hobby! When you can repose him with all his arms and just the sound of the 6x3mm magnets snapping together, mmhh, so good! He is going to be my next painting project, and i m super excited to see him in all his glory at the end. It´ll probably take me 45+ more hours for the paintjob, but its going to be worth it. I already ordered more Tyrant Guard, to make sure he doest suffer from the new models syndrome too much. 😅

Great video, would be even better if you put the paints used either in the description or in the corner as you do each step. A link for the etsy torso would be cool too but also understand that may not be possible as its a reseller and gw may not appreciate that

Yeah I would just get some silicone and cast the parts that you only have one of like you were saying with the torso so this way I could have all three at the same time and then I just have to decide which one I want to use instead of using magnets or modifying certain parts like the wings that the part that connects to the main body
