I feel like most of the time she pulls a random number out of a hat instead of trying to calculate a value based on similar items currently out on the market. I understand why it's the value she has to give, but it's not fair to the winning litigate whose item was (most likely) more valuable when they lost possession of it. Because their item was x number of months or years younger at the time they lost possession than it was at the hearing.

So I should have to pay for the value of the item when I took possession of the item, not how much the item is worth once the judgement comes around.
