If you’ve struggled growing tradescantias, here’s some tips ⬇️ Growing outside: No direct sunlight. The bright sun on the foliage can burn the leaves but a shaded spot on your porch would be great. Because of the airflow and light they are receiving they will need to be watered much more often. I don’t allow to completely dry out outside. I water when about 50 percent dry. Growing inside: A bright sunny window inside and that will also keep the beautiful color on it too. Low light will cause it to grow leggy and lose the variegation. I do let dry out almost completely then I water throughly, they are prone to stem rot. You will come across crisp on the leaves. Don’t be alarmed. Chop the dead leaves as you see them and you can also propagate in your propagation method of choice or even directly in the soil like I showed. If you found this helpful, consider following along for more planty tips and leave any questions down below!

I'm 25 and I got to say.. plants never interested me. I'm from England and my bedroom is always humid and gets damp I read tradescanthia and spider plants are great for that.. got 1 of each.. I'm ashamed to say I over watered them.. successfully propagated a cutting of inch plant.. but both my plants I bought got root rot. Spider plant first.. even after doing my research.. now I'm collecting rain water and just spraying top layer, as I bought 2 more types of spider plant and a new inch plant.. so far doing great.. I used an app which kept saying my plants were underwatered, however its my own fault my first plants didn't survive.. I am still devastated about it 😢 your videos are helping me learn more about plants! Thank you. Subscribed 😊

@@itsEmphera don't be too harsh on yourself, you're still learning and with time it'll be pretty easy and you'll have happy plants If your place is already humid, you have to pay more attention to not overwater Don't water until they're dry

Pink nanouk was the plant that got me into plants. I found 4 cuttings in the recycling room and thought "wow, those are gorgeous! I'll put them in some water until they die." Then they didn't die. They got roots! I had NO idea that was a thing lol. So i googled it, learned about propagation and my plant journey began. It's been two years, my nanouk is huge. I've already given away 3 of it's babies and have another one on my porch waiting to be gifted as well. It is my most complimented plant, as well as my zebrina. They're survivors and can live through damn near anything!
