Same. The horns on that beat make it sound so triumphant. Perfect album closer. Drums smack hard. We need a whole track-by-track breakdown for Victory Lap. The team of LA-based musicians killed both Victory Lap and To Pimp A Butterfly. There was some overlap between musicians who worked on both.

This was great. Really in depth background on the mechanics that went into this dope beat. Mike & Keys are very underrated. They shouldve had something in here discussing Dj Quik mixing this beat, which I believe was the only song completely mixed on that "Crenshaw" tape, a project that could still use a professional mix and master btw. You hear this song, sonically, alongside everything else on that tape, and you can hear the elevation here, where Dj Quik really brought those instruments and the drums to life. Cant waut to binge watch other videos in this series. Don Cannon's really got something here for music lovers.

Damn I remember using Reason for a long time, and he's right, Reason is dope but you had to freak it to make it work with certain things. But it's a beast of a program. I use Ableton now but I will always respect Reason.

Bruh.. reason was the struggle. I used reason 5 back in the day. It has great sounds but yoh the work flow was murder. I eventually switched to studio one when it first came out. Now I am using ableton. Its so easy. Anybody can use it.
