The first “KZfaqr” Who made sequences that looks absolutely filmic. Congrats. The first time I thought this frame was in a real movie. Awesome.

Message to all the newbies, while i like to make sure that i in no way trying to discredit the techniques used in this video - just when you go through all his videos, please note, that the biggest contributor to a nice look here, is the perfect “cinematography friendly”locations. The architecture and design are perfectly suited to shoot. If you apply such techniques (or better ones) in the typical boring room you usually shoot at, you’d still won’t get close to this.

You should have the book light up light her from a low angle for more realism. It doesn’t look as natural the way it’s coming down her face if you’re making it look like lamps lower than her face

Nice bts. A shame that the Blackmagic Footage is noisy and not graded. Doesn't really help to make people feel like the camera doesn't matter. Could have looked so much closer to the Arri Footage with a little bit of love.. :)

If Black magic would pay me to advertise, I would make sure you couldn't see the difference between Alexa and BM. :) That I said in the video I can back up with my experience with the BMPCC, it's an awesome camera with high DR for the its money. Just check my old videos on my channel, they were all shot with blackmagic. Anyway, here are stills from another BMPCC FF camera from a student in a master class: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1_TVr-CjBD7TlF0ZuKjD-jUrULlX_Uubl?usp=sharing

@@ANDBERY haha, yeah you only have so much time in a day. Just thought it was a missed opportunity since you're building it up in the beginning of your video, that you'll include footage from the BMCC in order to show that the camera doesn't matter and then the footage actually looks pretty crappy. :D But I'm neither upset nor a Blackmagic fan boy, just thought it was funny.
@halfgraincinematography
@halfgraincinematography Ай бұрын
@@viktordmitriev8778 Well, the footage of the BM camera just doesn't look anything like the Arri, right? But it could have looked so much more like it if they had color corrected it properly. It was a matter recourses I guess, just a missed opportunity to prove their point.

I always wonder if this much work and effort has to put on lighting a single person, how do you light multiple peoples? Like a pub or a police station, or when go through a big hall and extras go all around them?
@ANDBERY
@ANDBERY Ай бұрын
it's a good question :) But It's not possible to convey the full thought in one comment. Briefly, in the scene that I set up, you can put up several people (in the first scene especially). It all depends on the power of the light source and the size of the location. As usual, these two conditions are interrelated. In the future, I will make an analysis of one of my works with several people in the frame.

@@ANDBERY Can you explain the use case and difference of it? I learn more in example vs use case otherwise my brain doesn't seem to grasp it. Why would you not just white balance to a true white balance and then make it in post? I don't seem to understand it.
@ANDBERY
@ANDBERY Ай бұрын
@@Cinedon When I shoot in a contrast of two different color temperatures, the 3600K balance on the camera helps exaggerate the cooler shades a bit. Usually, I work in the 4000-4500K range such a balance is easy to manipulate in post.
