Continuous Integration (CI): Developers regularly integrate their code changes into a shared repository, and automated builds and tests are triggered to ensure that the changes don't introduce errors and are compatible with the existing codebase.
Continuous Deployment (CD): Once code changes pass the CI phase, they are automatically deployed to a staging or production environment, making the release process more efficient and reducing the time between development and delivery.
GitLab, on the other hand, is a web-based DevOps lifecycle tool that provides a complete CI/CD platform. It combines version control (using Git repositories), CI/CD pipelines, code review, and collaboration features in a single application. GitLab allows teams to manage the entire software development lifecycle in one place, providing an integrated environment for planning, coding, testing, deploying, and monitoring.
