This has been one of the best podcasts I've ever listened to. I wanted to add to the closing about our homes being perfect. It was stated about our homes will always have something to clean or redo or whatever. That could be one of the most genuine things we can offer people is not having the perfect house. I can personally attest to this. I am a mom of 10. We homestead and homeschool. It's constant mess and things happening. Well, we live right in the middle of a plain (Mennonite) community. We visited their church for a while and made some great friendships. My husband works with them. We've had lots of dinners both at our home and at theirs. But I came to a point where I was so intimidated by their houses. They are SO neat and tidy and their lawns are immaculate. Just perfection!! I decided my home wasn't good enough and no longer felt comfortable entertaining. Well, one of those dear ladies came over on a surprise visit and we were chatting and she told me that they spoke of our home to people all the time! How though it's not perfect, it's so full of love and welcoming and perfectly imperfect that it's just a place you want to sit and chat. My! I was so blessed!! We had them for Thanksgiving and we ate off mismatched plates and silverware and had an outside glass table extended to our dining table. And I remember feeling so overwhelmed with gratitude and joy as that ladies husband sat in the la z boy put his feet up and fell asleep! What a compliment. Don't be shy bc if the status of your home. In a world where everyone and everything seems so Pinterest and IG perfect, people want the reality. People want to visit with someone who's home isn't white and cream with black or gray and white marble everywhere. People need real people. People need Jesus.

Lisa please don't stop making these collabs/podcasts. This is MUCH needed for us young mamas! I'm only 26, with 4 children and I am most of the time so lost because intentional discipline or connections wasn't a thing when I was growing up. Thank you thank you

I remember when I was a new homeschooling mama of a lot of little ones, feeling like I was drowning, I read a Sally Clarkson book and was able to finally breathe again. Her idea of anchors or rhythms freed me to set a pace that our family and my personality felt freedom in. Praise God you ladies of faith sharing your wisdom and experience with others

I am an older longterm homeschool mom of 9. I still need this encouragement. We have " seasons" where we don't connect with many other people. Out reaching is important to me. I will get back to having people for tea / coffee.

Long time viewer/reader - first time post! Thank you for bringing Christian guests on like Sally Clarkson, also thank you for your last birth story about it being actually pain free. I watched your birth story two days before my labor and my goal was to relax during transition and it happened! I'm so thankful you shared that and "pressure not pain". I also want to thank you for your keeping it real and relatable in front of the camera. Your content is a wonderful encouragement. :)

Im only 10 min in and ive cried twice. Now on min 38 and wanted to add, ive thought a lot about the scripture that talks about women being saved through child bearing and how much that term “child bearing” really encompasses all if raising a family because of the immense sacrifice we as women make for our families many times at the expense of ourselves, our needs, our desires, goals, etc. It’s laying down our lives in servitude and sacrificing for our families in such a way that brings salvation to our selfish human nature. ❤

So inspiring and make realize how lazy I can be to reach out to others even if I need and want, always have excuses.. I have some woman I meet now and then but I dont have a really close friend where you can talk about everything. I like to go deep..I moved to another country for some years ago, have 4 kids and its a challenge to get new friends when you are older ( 42 ) ,thank you lisa!!!:)

As a mom of four and now grandma of four who struggles with the fear and loneliness that comes with my kids slowly moving out of our home and building their own lives it helped me so much when she said she struggles with darkness. My darkness is the fear of losing purpose and relevance in my children’s lives and just life in general. It plagues me sometimes especially when I don’t immediately go to the Lord in prayer and remember the peace He gives us. But as she said she struggles with darkness I thought not only of myself but of all the women I know that have these same and other dark struggles. And the company of other believing women always lifts my spirit. Always. We definitely need each other.

Great episode. After having my baby last year, I realized how much more intentional I needed to be in order to have both fellowship and solitude. Two things I've started doing that help: waking up one hour before the baby, and having a friend over for conversation after our kids' bedtimes.

Seems like an introvert person is a person who has possibilities to go and come back on theirs lives… example: A person loves to be talking or seeing each other… but also love to have enough time to speak to ourselves… just « thinking « without being distracted by other things or got to do this and that.. just listening to « me »… for a few minutes…
