I think the way you cook should be considered the “normal way” it’s home cooked/homemade , good ingredients, protein, veg, starch and fats, and your sauerkraut. It’s balanced. ❤ great video as always! The bump is looking cute!

I love the way you guys live and the meals you guys make... I didn't grow up in that kind of setting...I have 9 kids and after my fifth, I realized the take out/chx nugget/Mac and cheese processed food from a box wasn't the way I wanted my kids to grow up...insert Lisa and Laura ...I literally got inspired from you two, 4kids later, we now eat 90% at home, and I always picture you guys when I'm getting ready to make food for my family...I'm so grateful for you both ...you all took out the heavy overwhelm that I imagined home cooking all the time would be ❤

I believe the little oak chest you purchased is referred to as a dry sink. These were typically used with a pottery pitcher & bowl set used for washing up before running water in homes. I have one which was passed on to me from husband’s grandparents. I refinished it years ago and initially used it in my sewing room but after downsizing its now in my foyer. Very attractive useful piece, I’d say you scored! If also seen it used as baby changing table with a cushioned pad on top.

Hi Laura ( or is it Lara ? ) 😊 Here is a family favorite recipe that is simple and so delicious. ( German pork and Saurkraut ) Take a baking pan, layer peeled and cut lengthwise potatoes ( any type). Lay pork steak , pork chops or boneless ribs on top of the potatoes. Then top with sauerkraut. Salt and pepper. Cover and bake till potatoes are soft and meat is done. A hour ? 350 degrees. I usually let it cook slow all day. Either in a crockpot or oven on low. It’s actually better the next day. It’s a recipe that you can add more or less of any ingredient. The more sauerkraut the better. More tangy. I put a couple chunks of butter on top as well. Hope you try it ! Love your channel 😊

For lunches, many people have leftovers from the night before; various salads such as chef, egg, spinach, chicken, ham; hearty soups; sandwiches from leftover meats, chicken, etc. Something of a different temperature or texture from a full dinner meal.

I've often wondered too why such big lunches but you're probably right, the growing boys would have to eat 2 or 3 sandwiches to get full so may as well cook a big lunch! I love that small chest you found. Little pieces like that are so versatile, you can always find a spot in a room or hall to put them and they are a great place for storing towels or whatever, your house looks really nice. I know you said you don't mop much but I do recommend the spin mop if you ever need one. I think they do a really good job without having to get on the floor. Have a nice weekend!

Laura, just a little FYI unless you just prefer there is no need to refrigerate your bacon grease. I have a small crock next to my stove that I strain mine into each time I cook bacon. It is so wonderful and I occasionally empty it and wash it but not very often. Just thought I would pass on that bit of knowledge. I realize bacon needs the refrigeration but the grease was actually used to preserve meat decades ago. Love your videos and Congratulations on your new addition!❤

I need some answers from the experts please. I recently started using dōTERRA oils and made a few roller bottles for my son and myself and I noticed an odd smell that lingers on the skin at the end of the day. I noticed it on out hair mostly. We both have long hair and we don't wash our hair every day and it got very stinky after a couple of days because I guess the oil that we put on the back of our necks got transfered to our hair. Is this because of the coconut oil? Did anyone else notice something like this? I have a very sensitive nose and it almost makes me want to quite using our roller bottles.

Lunch for my house- leftovers, sandwiches or frozen things. My family is so picky. If they all eat my home cooked dinners I have won :) I can’t even get my kids to have a home lunch, they all rather eat crap public school lunch and complain about it and how they don’t get enough food 🤪 so All that said - this is my biggest battle actually 😥 I buy healthy food and want my family to eat all healthy all day and nope
