I’m glad to hear that your aralia sun kingg is just coming up for you in zone 8. I’m in zone 5 and just planted one last year and haven’t seen any action from it yet so I thought it was dead. I will keep my fingers crossed!!

Hi there,Jenny, interesting you will be hosting multiple events and you have done an amazing job of getting your garden ready! Really like the wiggles and squiggles hostas,white heather hosta, Annette's Holly Fern and I could go on and on. The plants are beautiful. I love Diamond Frost Euphorbia. I now have 10 - planted alone in pots on my moon garden patio and in 30" pots mixed with asparagus ferns! The begonia looks amazing against your siding!

Just beautiful!!! I have the same Rex begonias but not PW. They are from Lowe’s purchased about 2 weeks ago and they are already getting big. Plus I just got a fountain installed in my shade garden. It’s really “Go Time” to plant up my containers and garden beds.

I planted a very similar Rex Begonia in a shade container last year and it survived our Zone 8 NC winter! I hope yours does too.

I finally found a source for Sun King aralia. It’s teeny now- planted from a 3” pot- but I have hope it’ll eventually grow massive as yours have 💛💚

My goodness it’s all going to look gorgeous:) the slug sprinkle if you are watering all the time then does that mean you have to add the slug sprinkle after you water???? Ok I have to ask who ever was in the kitchen at the sink were they giving you silly faces??? lol Tfs and God bless:)

What pretty window boxes! I have a lot of shade so it was nice to see the shade garden. I have an area that gets bright light, but no sun. Will the impatiens still be okay? Thanks for all the information-have a great day😊

I love how these will turn out! Gorgeous! Are there any ways to protect the Hardie plank behind the window boxes? Do they end up staining/ causing damage/ attracting termites etc to the wood at all? No experience yet with these. But I’m excited to get started!

I planted yellow gladiolus bulbs next to purple kale in dec, now the gladiolus are forming flower stalks of Prple blooms! Could the kale have something to do with it? Root communication?

I’ve always thought you have to pre soak coco liners but it doesn’t look like you did. So I’m assuming it’s ok to skip that step? Everything looks amazing!!

Can the Sun King handle wet feet? I'm considering planting one near my house with some Lilac Crush hibiscus. It's a pretty wet area. I know the hibiscus will be fine. Just wanted your thoughts on the Sun King.

Could you plant the begonia a little higher than the rest of the plants to ensure it is seen as a thriller ? Just a thought. I know my Impatients can get pretty tall. Again just a thought. 🪻🌷💚🙃

Laura, from GA, shows a way of placing a cardboard circle inside your planter and filling it in with more potting soil to elevate the center. It works great, and makes a big difference!
