I had the same issue. The solution is this, open “Windows services” or “Services” app > find the service name “MySQL80” (name maybe different) > right click and select ‘Start’. Open MySQL Command Line App and enter your password, Now try and reconnect on PopSQL

I have resolved the issue for future boys and girls (Windows Only) on your search bar type MySQL installer- community. then find the server and click configurate. then click the steps and enter your password. next open up the MySQL client and enter password. then go back to PopSQL and on the top left click the red wiggly cables and connect to the server you had created.

Hey i found out my mistake. You filled the wrong details while linking the database in PopSQL app. Check the name of the database once

Are you trying to use PopSQL? I had a hard time with that so I used MySQL Workbench. Slightly different interface, but much less headache connecting to the local MySQL server.

Scott Isitt ya I switched to workbench, its so much better. Initial setup is long but worth it

Make sure your mysql server is running. Im not sure how to do this in windows, in Mac it appears on the front page of settings

Hey bro, i know its late but in windows, enter to popsql and on top of the text in would say Mysql with some cables there, click it and it becomes green, thats how you connect to the database :)
