Hey art friends! Let’s paint colorful corn (the story of Joseph in Egypt, a commissioned painting) using oil on canvas using a thick, impasto art technique called Daubism.

I am demonstrating the Daubism technique on a 24 inch x 18 inch stretched cotton canvas using palette knives and spoons in an art technique I developed in the year 2000 called Daubism for the thick slabs of oil paint or acrylic paint applied with spoons and palette knives. The texture feels like a low relief sculpture, and a bit like a mosaic made of paint.
I will show you step by step how you can paint your own version of this colorful sunflowers painting using acrylic on canvas.
Colors used in today's demonstration are water mixable oils from Royal Talens Cobra and from Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oils: titanium white, yellow ochre, permanent yellow light, cadmium yellow light, cadmium orange hue, cadmium red hue, permanent alizarin crimson, dioxazine purple, French ultramarine blue, phthalo blue red shade, and Ivory Black.
