Hi Friends Welcome back to the craft castle! I think by now I'm probably known as the gal who shows you how to make SVG files. Today, that's exactly what I'm going to do! However, I'm going to show you the easiest way to make your own! No software to download, no million buttons or keystrokes to press just an easy and simple way to make your own layered svg files! In this 25 minute video I'll show you how to take 3 different images found online and create your own svg files! That's right 3! Generally in my svg tutorials I show you how to do 1 in 15 minutes, and today it's 3 in 25!

This was such an amazing find! I have been struggling trying to do this on my own with my own drawings and I was just about to give up thinking I couldn’t use them to make SVG files when I came across this video. Thank you so much for this! Im planning to get a laser cutter and was feeling intimidated by figuring out inkscape to design and create svg's! I'm watching your Inkscape videos as well and so thankful at how well you explain things and make it less intimidating!!

yay! I love hearing this! I know Inkscape can be VERY confusing. But I always suggest just play around with the software. Start easy, like creating basic shapes then work your way up to more difficult things.

when I use the hide contour feature the black outline does not make it a solid black ground how can i do this please?

This is such an amazing video!!! Thank you!! These images are copyrighted, so where (or how) would we be able to get a basic starting image?

What do you mean by basic starting image? While these images are copyrighted you definitely can use them for your own personal use. ❤️

Thank you for your response. Basic starting images would be those we can use that we can sell. If for example we used the Rudolph coloring page and added colors to the image, like you did in this video, would we be able to sell the image as an SVG without copyright issues, now that we have altered it?

@@ABlessed01that is still a copyrighted image. The only images you would not run into on that would be an image you create totally from scratch and it cannot resemble snoopy, Rudolph, the Grinch or any type of Disney images among any out there. That's kind of why design space has such crappy images too. Designers trying to avoid copyright issues so they're stuck making images that are from scratch.

Great video! I know you make your own svg files, which is awesome. But i was curious if i got an image off of creative fabrica. How can i change the colors to make it my own. There is a lot of shading in the images. I've tried to do it with canva with no success, but i would like to know how to do it on inkscape. If you could do a video, I would be so grateful.:)

Hi Kimberly! Could you possibly give me a link of something that you're trying to convert. That'll give me a better idea of what you're trying to do and I can better tailor a tutorial for you.

Not real smooth lines on the black part of snoopy. That can cause problems with a cut. You should've shown how they cut out.

you can adjust the smoothness while using the website.

I know videos are time limited but perhaps you should've mentioned that in your video. I also feel that copyright may be infringed on by some of those which should've been brought up. Those should be for personal use only but some of your followers may think it's ok to make and sell those which could possibly get them in a lot of trouble. Perhaps do a video on each of those points?
