Creative block early on in my daily drawing project transformed my career. In this video I talk about that. I also discuss how I probably wouldn’t have been succesful as an illustrator if had actually tried to become an illustrator (as opposed to accidentally getting here). Does this description make any sense at all??

😅 Want to know more about how I “accidentally” became an illustrator and what I’ve learned through that process? Check out this playlist: kzfaq.info/sun/PLAufnRAvMJPARED8Bo9DEYtvvjQ7C7DIe&si=e13e64WTl-yBVh98

Brilliant, thanks mate! I’m a 41yo graphic designer in the process of developing my illustration in New Zealand, and like yourself I only found out I had ADHD in ‘22. This video was incredibly profound, and also useful in explaining to family that I’m not the only one on this rock of 7 billion that struggles with the “block”, cheers!!

Definitely will incorporate this with my photography. I’m in that haze of what you were talking about in the first minute. So hopefully this can get me out of that. Thank you!

That gamification is very good idea. I also have issues like this all my life starting something figuring out I can do it and not be interested to excel to it. Going to something else..new challenge.. so I know a lot in many fields but not excellent in anything. Messy brain 😅

1. I’m an ADHD af illustrator and have been using fresco for a few years now. Just now finding your channel and I’m SHOOK! I’ve learned so much in the last hour of watching your videos. Last year was a long and stressful dry spell with gigs and I realized upping my skill could help. I’m feeling so encouraged :,) Thank you. 2. I’ve always been unsure about drawing with pixel brushes because I wasn’t sure I could scale them up without the risk of losing quality. You do major client work using them- what size canvases do you use to ensure your images can be used by people in a variety of ways?

Thanks so much! Glad my content is resonating with you. In terms of working in pixel brushes, in general you can’t really scale up without losing some quality. So I tend to just work at a fairly large size, but even if it didn’t need to be printed I still would work that size because it gives me more brush control. I tend to work at a minimum of 4000 pixels wide. When im doing client work they almost always have a specific size the art will be used so i just work to that size. If it’s being used in a couple ways I’ll just create my art to the largest size they need because scaling down will not result in a loss of quality. In the rare cases where the art will need to be produced in a ton of sizes including very big stuff that’s when I’ll be working in vector. But for most cases it’s not needed. This video will be helpful too: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pNCCqKibp625YoU.htmlsi=UjAJ2fdn2o-ukucN

Lettering is so incredibly challenging for me. I draw landscapes and animals really well but creating them into a series sounds daunting. lolol I don't have as many interactions when I steer away from what I typically draw. But I love cartoons and humor. I really want to express it through my art. DILEMMA!

Seeeee I struggle with the opposite. Once it becomes routine and I maybe get busy that day and struggle to keep up, I feel horribly guilty and then it's all downhill lol. I do like the mindset of it not mattering because it's "disposable". This may help me! Also, can we just take a second to recognize the play on the Su¡c¡dal Tendencies logo? Love it!

Hi Chris, a quick question. How did you create the Vector Brush preset in the first place? I can create brushes in Illustrator, but cannot put them into a CC Library. Any tips?
@chris-piascik
@chris-piascik 6 ай бұрын
Unfortunately you can’t import illustrator brushes intro fresco. My brushes aren’t exactly “brushes” they’re presets I created adjusting the settings within Fresco.

I don’t know if it’s intentional or not, but I’m triggered every time you say you “lost the game” and I can’t be the only one feeling this way 👀 I don’t know which generation was responsible for its beginnings, if kids today still play, or what but dang it Chris, I’ve lost the game! 😭 If anyone is reading this and it means nothing to you, please proceed with your day. 😂
