Here is my first CREATIVE JOURNAL flip through, with this style mixing Urban Sketching, Watercolor, Collage, Junk Journal, Bullet Journal and more and I am really excited to share it with you!! …😃 My style has always been close to a travel journal aesthetic, even when staying at home, and I especially like to include to my sketchbooks and journals Urban Sketches, Watercolor Paintings, Pencil drawings, Ink doodles and Ephemera, in order to give them a bit of an illustrated journal feeling. 😍 These days, my journal is even more full of a lot of creative expression together and I am in love with the surprising creative process going along with it! 🤩 🥳

Hey hey, I am glad you noticed it!! I also used it as a background to take nice colorful photos of my mini-palette the other day. 🥳 It's part some really nice paper blocks that I am buying at a shop called Action. I think this colorful a bit "flower power" themed one is my favorite indeed!! 😆 In the artsy pack I am sending to my Patreons, I am often sending these kind of colorful modern papers along with some genuine vintage French ephemera, so maybe you would be interested about it?! I am going to include this very paper to the ones I am preparing these days. 😊🥳

Thank you so much for such a lovely comment Kathy!! 😃 Yes there is no shame in pasting and glueing!!! 😁😇 Plus it adds so much freedom, you can draw or paint on another kind of paper and add it to your journal, you can paste something on an ugly sketch or an unfinished something, you can journal even when you don’t really have the energy…. This is also a breath of fresh air!! 😃😁😘

@@FollowingtheWhiteRabbit I intentionally bought a journal with crappy paper so I wouldn't feel bad "ruining it" like I do with my good cotton watercolor paper. But I do have some really tiny loose sheets of watercolor paper I was thinking I could do some paintings on those and paste them in if I like them

@@kathyhackney7950 This is a really good idea Kathy!!! If you figure out the paper is not good for nothing 😅🤣 you can just write and create on scraps of paper and put them with a nice design in your sketchbook!! Sometimes, I take a note and I am writing my plan for the day or something and it's a nice base to create ma spread later on. 😊 Happy creating Kathy!!! 🤩🥳

I really enjoy your work. It’s so expressive and bright! What journal do you use? I have had trouble finding one that doesn’t warp too much with watercolor washes.

how much time per day do you allocate for yourself for watercolour/journalling etc ? I wonder how you find the time ?

I essentially stopped journaling everyday in 2021 due to working 60+ hr a week and having other responsibilities. I’ve decided to get back into it; bullet journal (planner) and my art/mixedmedia journal. I tend to combine all 3 of them into my journal so it’s a mashup. Just subscribed to your channel.
