If anyone is looking for cheap glass, go to your local store (Kmart in Australia) and buy the cheapest photo frame with glass. Just choose your size to suit and like Stewart Wood use cloth tape around the edges.

Usual great video , Stewart.I just tried it and got some really good images which Im now using has my wallpaper on my pc,phone and tablet. i tried some of mys sons screenwash at first because it said it contained rain repellant - didnt work, the drops flattened - so I got the Rain-X and it was perfect.Cheers our kid.

Going back in reviewing this video again, I realize that when you use the spray bottle that several of the water drops need to be similar in size so you can get multiple images in focus. In my first attempt, I either had the original water drop (placed using the blunt end syringe) in focus while the other images were blurred. Thanks, Stewart for sharing the process for water droplets on glass.

I think 3:1 water glycerine solution can also be used..but haven't tried yet

Just curious where you got the glass pane. BTW Without the RainX, would 1:3 glycerine water work as well? I use that for my flower photography to give the flower some interest.

Love the composition i like to try it out myself, but i have one question to you. I want to buy the Laowa 100 mm 2x macro but everyone says that it will work best with mirrorless camera but i have a canon 70d. Tell me is it still worth it

I use the Laois 100mm with a Canon 5D IV - very sharp and easy to use as a manual focus lens. Not sure where you got the info that it’s best for mirrorless cameras? When given the choice between my Canon 100mm macro or the Laowa, I choose the Laowa every time.

If you mean can you use the camera on your phone to create these images, the answer is YES! I teach a kids’ class on water droplet refraction, and we only use smartphones. It’s actually easier than using a DSLR, in my opinion.
