jennifer, I LOVE the way you speak to us in such a respectful manner. For example , speaking about cutting up stencils if I have trouble deciding which part goes where. You make it sound like it’s not a big deal to struggle with things that may come east to you! It just exemplifies what a kind, understanding person you are. I appreciate that!

Thank you for doing more Altenew craft your life kit videos! Since the move to have all subscriptions released on the same day it seems like the video inspiration for these kits is less as it is split over all the subscriptions. I have to grin whenever you mention the length of your videos, because for me, I have learned so much, the time has just whizzed by…and I find myself constantly with a smile! You make everything so much fun and I can’t wait to try these things out for myself. When Altenew came out with bundles with stencils that could be used on the included embossing folders, I took it a step further and used my stamp pad to highlight the higher parts of the images. I got this from the small picture shown on the packaging of the embossing folder. It you have helped me make things even more defined and eye catching with the gloss and lunar pastes..and now we have solar pastes. I have even used the Pearl powders for a very soft and dreamy, romantic look. Love your videos…and they are never too long as I always learn so much! 😊

All great techniques. I love the Rock Candy also. It's my favorite glitter. I think the Tim Holtz transparent crackle paste and Rock Candy Glitter would look great, a vintage vibe.

I like their kits, and I find these ideas can be used on any of the older kits I have gotten since many of them have similar products in them. I try to keep that in mind when I see a great video with technique but do not have the exact set in the video. She always has such great ideas and techniques.

When you pull out stash we already have and prob forgot, and use it on a card i absolutely am thrilled. I have so many glazes and sparkle pastes that I need to use more. So always include if you can those things that are sitting in our drawers we seldom use. I love what you did with these products from Altenew. They are so gorgeous! Thank you!

Great ideas to extend the use of our supplies. I love Rock candy too. I have a Build a Basket die set that has candy Easter bunnies. I created one in brown card stock & coated it with Glossy accents to create a chocolate bunny. I also coated a pink bunny with Glossy accents, dropped it into Rock candy & it looks just like a candy peep!

I really liked the embossed leaves card with the metallic rub-n-buff. Great level of sophistication. You are right that I don’t use gels and pastes on my cards. I use those products all the time on sculptures, paintings, and my art journal but not cards. I don’t own many of the layered stamps & stencils because I really like coloring and I like the ability to add shading and highlights as I see fit. But the ideas in this video would work well with combining different stencils too. I like using different size stencils together. Typically using smaller size patterns to create details on bigger images. Glitter paste would be fabulous on Christmas cards. Glittery snowflakes on snowman or trees would be good or even a giant transparent but glittery snowflake layered over a Christmas scene. The possibilities are swirling through my mind. Definitely not last minute cards.

I'm loving all of the ideas you've shared so far (31 minutes in), but now with those metallic rub-ons my mind is blown! How have I been crafting with paper all these years (and my sister has been a demonstrator for a home sales stamp company so I've seen so much that I don't use from her) and I've never heard of this?! Thank you, as always, for sharing fabulous ideas for using my stash, but also introducing me to something that I obviously need to add to my crafty repertoire!

So appreciated this video to remind me to use products that are still sitting in drawers waiting for inspiration. The tricks on using the stencils that may not appear to be aligned with the images really helped when die cutting first, then stenciling the color or gel/paste for enhancements! TFS!!

I love these ideas! I have so many gels & pastes that I rarely use. So this video is fantastic, as I was just checking them all last week to make sure they’re not dried out. (Thankfully they are not!). I love these sets from Altenew & you made beautiful cards with them. Thank you for the ideas & the reminder to use the things we have. (I noticed you have 8k views & only 18 comments. That doesn’t seem right. I’ve seen the same kind of thing on other channels as well the last few days. I wonder if it’s really accurate or if something is up with KZfaq & comments aren’t actually being posted).

One has to admit. Altenew is a bit on the higher priced side. Really happy to see gels n pastes brought forward. Mine have lasted so much longer than some would have us believe if kept in controlled environments.

There have also been some crafters who have “resuscitated” their dried up gels or pastes also. So always check videos to see if possible before throwing them away.

I just got that altenew always sunshine stencil set and was in a hurry to make a sympathy card so didn’t read the guide properly. After finding there were extra cutout shapes but also missing ones I was worried there had been an error in the kit. After much faffing around I realised the third layer used the Stamps as well and that there were stencils for the embossing folder! I wish I’d had this video yesterday Jennifer. I’m going to go back and add some glitter gel today.

Only thing I probably wouldn't use is the die, which is the most expensive item in the collection. Love the idea of embossing folders and coordinating stencils...instant art! Multiple stamps seems a waste of time...you can create the image with the stencils and don't need the additional stamps.

Random comment here...but on one of the leaves you did the dark ink first (because you had it out I'm assuming) and then went over it with the lighter ink, which made it almost look like it was glowing from within. I love that, I'm going to try some dark to light inking and see what happens!

I admittedly didn’t get very far through this video and, having read several comments, I clearly should continue. But what puts me off very often is mention of things like layering stencils, layering stamps, anything involving foiling… Jennifer, you’re amazing. A MA ZING. I feel so lucky to have you as a guide through my crafty learning process. It’s just… some tools like the ones I’ve mentioned above feel unimaginative and a bit exploitative by the companies that produce them. I do feel awful and ungrateful saying this because you create all these videos and share your expertise and ideas for free. I just… I don’t know. I preferred your older videos when we genuinely could do things with what we had. I’m sorry m, again, I feel awful criticising anyone who shares so much for nothing in return. I know I’ll get a lot of negative feedback, and I accept it. But everything I say is from a place of love and appreciation and I will continue to watch and enjoy your videos whatever. Thanks for the opportunity to give feedback. xxx

I appreciate your comment. I really try to include things that anyone can do. For example, in this video i show putting glue on flowers and adding glitter. I will work to share universal ideas more. As for these types of products, I find them inspiring and fun! And I assure you that companies are NOT trying to exploit. They are offering a variety of products that people are loving. They are trying to keep their head above water in these trying times, too! But no worries - they will always offer traditional stamps too. :)

Lunar paste is my favorite. Can you heat set these different pastes or is it better to let it air dry for 30 minutes or so? I don't know if PA is just really humid, but mine never seems to dry!

All these cards are gorgeous! I’m almost halfway through the video but don’t think I have most of what’s needed (e.g. layering stencils). I know it’s extra work for you, but timestamps/chapters would be helpful here. I’ll just check out your next video. (Not asking you to change what you’re posting; next time I’ll have the tools and someone else won’t, or the technique will be do cool I’ll want to buy something new.)

If you have any stencils that have layers to it, you could use them with pastes and gels too. Even if you have any die sets with layers. You could make your own stencil with the different die layers.
