The other day I decided to experiment with Gesso. There is so many different ways to use Gesso. It is not just a primer. I love taking a basic product and stretching it beyond it's intended use so I get even more from my products I have. I created my own texture paste, used it with a stencil and more.
You can also find some amazing creative exercises over on her channel I have linked her video here.

Hello. I saw a diy gesso recipe that used plaster of Paris or baby powder. I’m guessing either of those. I hope that helps. You can also let your gesso sit undisturbed for a few months and then gather the water that is sitting on top. Thanks so much for watching!

How do I make my economy gesso to be that thick? Do you have any suggestions?
@Tiffany.Solorio
@Tiffany.Solorio 3 жыл бұрын
I have heard if you leave it set and don’t disturb it the water will rise to the top and you can scoop it out. I think o saw it in the frugal crafters channel a while back. If you don’t mind a bit of grit I use cornstarch often to thicken up paints if need be. I hope that helps.

@Tiffany.Solorio
@Tiffany.Solorio Жыл бұрын
You can use cornstarch or you can also leave the lid off the gesso for a bit so the water can evaporate. I hope that helps.
