How to Make a Reverse Canvas with Heat Transfer Vinyl

Heat Transfer Vinyl is an amazing material to use with your Cricut cutting machine, and today’s project is no exception. This beginner tutorial is a great expansion of skills you have already learned, and reverse canvas projects make great home décor and gift items.
In this video tutorial, we will show you how to size your cut file to fit your canvas, separate your canvas for easy staining, how to trim and apply the heat transfer vinyl to your canvas, and how to reassemble your finished reverse canvas project. We also share some beginner hacks for super easy crafting, so this is one you don’t want to miss!

WHat are your thoughts on treating the canvas so the HTV adhears better. I thought many spray woth some sealant of modpodge or matte clear acrylic or paint etc? Love how you teach Thanks

Hey Gayle! I don't find sealing the canvas necessary for heat transfer vinyl, but have heard crafters talk about sealing for adhesive vinyl and for paint. The HTV adheres very well and I have several that have been fine for years. Hope this helps! ---Becky
