Around 2 yrs ago I got a lot of hens, then also hatched some. Sold organic eggs to an eatery. This year a weasel killed almost all of them over a 2 wk period, some in front of my eyes while i chased it with a spade. They only need the size of a quarter to get inside a pen or henhouse. My henshouse was so secure that I never had disease carrying mice or flies etc in there over all that time. But he got into a rabbit cage I had been using to protect the poultry after the initial attacks in broad daylight. They prefer to kill at night, make more of a sport of it. My taxi arrived to take me to an appointment, saved the hen but she needed to be syringe fed for 2 weeks from homemade egg-cream-sugar-salt mixture. Those planters should have mint in them since weasels & other such rodents who hunt by smell can't sense their own safety over such strong smelling plants. Have that around my henhouse but my hens were gardeners like me. Out in the wide open large yards etc.

Too many chickens for such a small run. Great idea to incorporate your garden into your chicken run though. You might also like to hang your water father away from your grain pellets (Hens love to splash & toss food around.) Also you might like to add some crushed oyster shells or crushed egg shells, so hens can scratch in this and help them develop stronger shells on their eggs. Just a few tips.

It's pretty but I think the 'RUN' is too small & short. They 'trip over each other' to get out and there's no way to feed or drink from all sides of his feeders. This would be a good run for 'Chicks' until you needed to give them more space. Quail perhaps or Rabbits.
