Wow. Vancouver looks like a colder version of Brisbane Australia. Beautiful city. Thanks for the quick rundown

We visited June 2023 and the drug and homeless problems were terrible. It was sad to see and scary to walk around the city even in the middle of the day. I visited once before in 2001 and it was a beautiful city and much safer.

Sadly many cities have this issue. We visited San Antonio Texas for the first time after living there and leaving in 2005. Completely different city, drug addicts all over the riverwalk

Yeah unfortunately there is a serious problem with homelessness across North America. It’s sad to see the cities decline so rapidly
@TedTed-xh1ys2 ай бұрын
It's unfortunate but avoidable. The homeless/drug problem is mostly isolated to the downtown corridor. West End and False Creek have less, and Kitsilano/Mt Pleasant + North/West Van have none and are some of the safest, cleanest neighborhoods you'll find in NA.

We always stayed at the RV park on the north end of the Lion's Gate bridge. And we buy new sweat shirts when in Canada (Portland, OR) as the quality is better than most of the US (made elsewhere anyway) as long as it said Fabrique Au Canada.

I live in BC and Vancouver Hotel prices are a lot higher than statef unless you stay at the airport. In the summer, decent hotels (not upscale) will run you to $250 per night plus taxes. Traveling by car from the airport will take you more than 25 minutes.

Well, I’d go in October my birthday is mid-October can’t change it lol so, I’ll take some of the rain and the cheap flights And I’ll be getting a hostel. No need for me to book an entire room. I’ll just be sleeping there.

Do I must need a car to Explore the places or I can use Public transportation? Thanks
@CreativeTravelGuide Жыл бұрын
You can use public transport for many sights but you may choose to take a tour or get an uber to see sights that are further out

Things to know? Downtown Vancouver and Vancouver international airport are aerodomes and drone flights should be done by licensed drone operators in Canada. Buzzing the downtown aero dome tower is dangerous as seaplanes fly over downtown and your drone could collide with one.
@CreativeTravelGuide11 ай бұрын
A great tip for drone flyers! Thanks for sharing !

November is the cheapest for flights and rooms because it has the worst weather. Sometimes biblical amounts of rain.

@CreativeTravelGuide3 ай бұрын
I would believe that to be fair! There is a growing population of Chinese in Vancouver so the Chinatown is kind of similar to modern day China. Having lived in China and then visiting Vancouver and NYC, I can see what you mean!

@TedTed-xh1ys2 ай бұрын
Maybe you're not friendly and people pick up on that? I've found Vancouver quite friendly for a NA city. It's certainly less friendly than other Canadian cities, but much more friendly than any other west coast city. If you want to really experience an unfriendly place, try Seattle or any California city if you don't look the part. Ice cold people that won't even look at you.
