I don't know why these new people think the movie is crap . Some of these people aren't born back when these type of movies are the best movies Sure it's not high-tech Sure it's not CGI Sure it's not even colourful but when you look at the effort and hard work this movie delivers , to me back in 1955 it's one of the best movies ever .

@@AGENTMARIEAKA-AVENGER2236 I will go even further that is high tech in a way that is a hard process to do. It can eat up time and money and is state of the art in a way right after Computer Effects. You have the most control of your characters or creatures out of all hands on effects of that period and even after mostly if done properly. I did some stop-motion as a kid it sucked. Not just 1955 I say it still holds up and always no one will ever touch Ray Harryhausen did it all himself except two films he made his whole career from his 16 features. C.G.I. sucks usually but I like some of it really depends though how much they use it and such. I like real hands on hand crafted art form effects Stop-Motion the best but also others that follow after. Now C.G.I. is way overused overall stop-motion that is ground-breaking and still is C.G.I. looks too real. In this case sorry I have to agree with Ray here. I guess to me that looks so realistic and many others. Well I forget when I watch it's Ray's master stop-motion it so draws and sucks me in. I was not born then either that is way before my time. I was born 9-29-1982. I saw that movie on TNT's Monstervision sometime in the 90's then Sci-Fi Channel shortly after and VHS Tapes it. I became aware of who Ray Harryhausen was short after. I already heard about Willis O'Brien some or O'Bie from King Kong '33 which my dad VHS Taped when I was a kid and Mighty Joe Young '49 first movie I saw Ray worked on also I know Pete Peterson did a tid bit of animation on Joe the Truck scene when it was stuck in the mud and Joe was hanging out of the back and trying to help. I heard about The Lost World '25 too from O'Bie when I saw that in about 2000 it blew me away! So O'Brien or O'Bie came known as to Ray and us animation guru geeks, lol. David W. Allen (Dave Allen) and Jim Danforth. Those are my favorites plus Doug Beswick, Randy Cook (Randall William Cook), Phil Tippett, Dennis Muren, Rob Maine, Jim Aupperle, Peter Kleinow,

Damn shit! this scene when The Golden Gate Bridge is uprooted. It always makes my spine and body chill when that octopus crushes the police car and starts pulling down the fucking bridge! I knew someone personally every-time as a kid every-time as a kid with their parents when they went across a bridge in a car they were afraid makes too much sense. If I was alive when it came out I don't blame him or even John Bruno ''How did you do that Ray? what did I see?"' That got him into visual effects man Ray was the shit and still this is my favorite movie he ever made utter destruction on mankind for playing with H-Bombs and atomic testing can't beat this!
