In this video I discuss credential evaluation process for internationally trained engineers that are planning to purse PE license in the U.S.
WHO AM I:
I’m Wasim, a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas (PE), Florida (PE) and Ontario (P. Eng) with consulting experience in design, commissioning and plant engineering for clients in Energy, Mining and Infrastructure. In 2014, I undertook a two year project assignment for a mining client in Florida and also decided to pursue PE Licensure in the United States. The road to licensure was challenging primarily because of lack of study resources for the FE and PE exams. I passed both exams in first attempts (FE in October 2014 and PE in April 2015). The lessons learned during the exam preparation process encourage him to develop FE Electrical and PE Power exam preparation resources to help aspiring examinees better prepare for these exams.

Good topic to discuss. There’s a lot more to cover regarding this subject. If someone has attended a non-ABET accredit Bachelors degree and the university to located in a country where it is not possible to send the original transcript directly from the university to NCEES, then that’s a huge problem. In that case, there’s no to have the NCEES profile completed for license reciprocity.

Thanks for the comment. Yes that indeed becomes an issue. Some cases university/colleges would charge extra for courier charges. Sometimes visiting them in-person or having a friend or family member meet the faculty/registrar office to arrange this as a special request also helps. I will follow-up with another video on these topics in near future.

However, if an engineer has a graduate degree in engineering from the United Staates, most states would accept the graduate degree in lieu of the foreign undergraduate degree - but NCEES does NOT make exception. Thanks for your video.
