As the archangel makes a second attempt on your life you raise your blade to meet theirs, and a blinding flash of red and gold follows as it ricochets off your weapon, leaving them open to attack. The hex placed on them by the Warlock has them vulnerable to mortal power. As you think this your blade meets their body, cutting their torso, the chaotic magic sears their flesh beyond recognition exposing muscle through the enchanted armor. They stare, afraid of what they have done, their mercy to your party when this all began would be their biggest mistake, potentially their undoing. The Archangel brings the blade down in retaliation and you barely block it, locking blades with the holy one. They are much stronger than you, a moment longer and they'll win this test of raw power and end you outright. You channel your magic through your gauntlet and reel your fist back, making contact to the bastard's face. They are sent flying away into the wall, leaving a crater. The magic seers your hand, the gauntlet red-hot with the smell of burning flesh emanating from it. The Archangel peels themselves from the crater and sprouts their wings, flying toward you at full speed in a fit of foolish rage. Right here...a moment to end it right now, do you take it? Or do you falter at the velocity of your winged foe? You kneel at the very last moment, holding your blade up to the sky and locking your arms in place. Oh this poor bastard, going too fast to slow down, flies across your blade, their two halves split off and soar into different directions, a shower of blood follows in the wake of this brutal display. If only the Assassin weren't so damn heroic, they'd get to see this happen, or do it for themselves for all you know. The rest are either revivable via magic, or still barely breathing. If only this were...a happier ending. Finally after the battles conclusion the Bard's temporary healing spell wears off, your numerous wounds reopen and you cough blood as you fall to your knees, unconscious. The enemy attacks so fast that he leaves after images. I party all of them. I see an opening. I stab his neck. He dies. I breathe, but more enemies are coming. When will it end. I don't know. But I will keep fighting.
