Hi! ive been wering j-fashion for over 10 years. Let me try to explain. A lot of the first outfits shown could fall under the "soft sister" (old term) or "Kawaii" aesthetic, but what you kiddos know as "Cutecore" is really just Jojifuku. I highly encourage you to look up the origins of the style before stripping it of it's identity by just using "Cutecore". Cutecore as a term is a bit trickier and in my opinion, can cover several different styles. Jojifuku's history is long and kind of controversial, but the youtuber Cybergrl did a few videos on it.

Thank u for educating!! But just like "kawaii" Use to be called "soft sister" What's the problem with people calling jojifuku, cutecore? (Geninune question) Most people say its Americanized because of the "core" in cutecore but its like that in all aesthetics so I don't quite get it :)

@@BerryPweiouskawaii fashion and jojifuku has some ties with feminist self-expression in japan, similar to lolita or gyaru fashions rebelling against the constraining ideals of femininity. calling it "cutecore" sort of strips it of that history

@@seraph3m Ohh because of the history? That makes more sense, calling kawaii/jojifuku fashion would strip away it's meaning. Would it be more reasonable to call cutecore as its own style? Since cutecore is just inspired by kawaii and it just includes cute and sweet things in general? (Other than just japan kawaii aesthetics!! ^^)

The first is kawaii, but the second is jojifuku, which means “kids clothing” and it’s based on little girls clothings n stuff, but most ppl call it cutecore or sum

jojifuku IS little girls clothing. Mother garden is primarily a children's brand and Mezzo piano is the same. Calling jojifuku cutecore strips it of a lot of it's controversy, but also of it's interesting history. I wish people didn't use the term cutecore

Many people call me weird for dressing in pink and feminine (I am Transsexual, I used to be a woman but now I am a man but I still dress feminine) they call me childish but for me it is a very sweet and Striking because these days it is very common to see people wearing only black.(⁠｡⁠•́⁠︿⁠•̀⁠｡⁠)

lemme get this straigth for u: kawaii/kawaiicore is a STYLE. but then, there are many SUBSTYLES. (idk the names of any) and in this video, it shows the "childish" kawaii and the "teens" kawaii. hope this helps
