My Dad worked long hours, 6 days a week, so we could have electricity, running water, and live inside. (Unlike the previous generations.) He was born with an open spine. The doctors fused it together as best they could (it was 1937). He was in pain every day of his life, but wanted to give us a better life. He did. God bless the working man....

Im 34 and my spine has been shot. Im too young for them to fuse the disc as then in 5 years time they would have to fuse the ones either side, then a few years after that even more. Im not given pain meds just told to get on with it (I turned up for every dr appointment with work trousers, a dusty polo and tattered boots, I think the Drs know our sort just get on with it and fight through the pain) (then the newer kind complain about how life isnt fair... what a bunch of c**ts)

The thing we as working men and women need to realize is we can't keep buying things we can't afford and expect to get ahead. It took me 20 years to realize that I don't need a fancy truck or house to make me happy, very little debt and being able to take a few days off without it killing me makes all the difference in the world. I used to be the man that had two boys and a wife with bills I couldn't pay but now they're grown and it's just the wife and myself and I'm only 42 years old. Life is too short to be a slave to the debt machine.

I had my first child when I was 17. I worked 2 jobs to pay rent and keep food on the table while I walked 3 miles to work because a car couldnt be afforded. I never took a dime of welfare. I just kept working I now have 4 children, My homes paid for, I own a small cabin up in the hills of Oklahoma, and I have few toys to play with. The media and big business would have us believe that being rich and wearing a suit to work makes us successful. I believe success is relative. I am now the CEO of a small internet company but that's not where I succeeded in life. The beautiful family I have created and worked so hard to support is what got me to where I am today. My wife and children are my greatest accomplishments in life.

Stick with it, Chuck. All of what you do has its reward. As for coffee with your Dad, treasure those times, they go by so quickly. Sometimes I think about my Dad and the life He gave us kids. That was a long time ago. They've all gone, but I do have some great memories to revisit from time to time. Don't give up. Your boy needs you.

One of my proudest moments in life, I went outside to move my 25-year-old son's truck to do some maintenance on it, I fired it up and the stereo was blasting my boy Creed Fisher at full volume. When my son came out to help, I gave him a big old bear hug, he's like dad what was that for, I just smiled and cranked up the volume. He understood. Thank you, Creed, for helping us dads get the right values across to these young men, especially these days.

Are wages are too low. the cost of living is to high, the song says it all. This guy should be way bigger than he is. What a badass song, I owned a trucking business and the pay has been the same since about the mid-90s but the cost of living has tripled. Then they wonder why we can't save for our retirement. That's hard to do when all your money goes straight to bills and servival.

Fact!! I was making 12.50 an hour in 2000, went into the military for 6 years active duty, got out and pay now in that same job I left at 19 is still the same to day. Good thing I'm in a different job field but just throwing out the example.

Don't think he's advocating for socialist min wage laws. Think he's advocating for lower taxes. If you haven't managed to get more pay sinces the 90's then your either not trying or stupid. Don't rely on the government to raise your pay do it yourself use the market

@@codyrush9520 advocating for socialist bud. When you say play the market. There's many different markets, real estate market ,stock market. I wasn't saying me directly in the 90s I was a small kid. So for the narrow-minded let me help you out. Gas was $0.96 a gallon now it's 2.50 or $3.00 . Therefore that's doubling or tripling the cost of living. Look at food prices. they have tripled, along with utilities, and general commodities.I don't have a problem playing the (markets) or making money. So just to sum up your comments of stupidity. I wanted to open your eyes to how the cost of living has tripled, and wages have not been increased to the inflation level we're seeing .
