BTW..anyone who has the 310...if you open the steam knob for a sec. or two (without activating pump) just before you take the filter off to empty the grinds, they will be significantly drier- almost puck-ish, but certainly less of a mess. Just something I stumbled upon while trying everything possible to give this machine a fair trial. The boiler is just really small and seems less powerful after two weeks of use. Roughly 30 seconds of steam before the "ready light" go out.

Same - both similar build quality. All of these small single boilers from DeLonghi have the same basic story and performance; you're really selecting based on the case design, etc. They'll produce very similar cups and have similar longevity. Hope that helps! - Kat

I have to say I think you're been very kind to this machine, I had 3 in total over a 4 month period, after about 500-750g of espresso put through it, the machine can start to spit coffee everywhere when removing the PF. All the machines I had were taken back by DeLonghi and deemed faulty, then replaced, eventually around Dec/Jan 2009 they were discontinued in the UK (well the black ones were, I believe there is stock of

Hello YILI YE, It is normal for there to be a small amount of water on top of your grounds with a pressurized portafilter like this DeLonghi. If your grind is a bit too fine, the dosage is a little high, or the beans are oily/dark roasted then you may see more water on top of your puck, but it is nothing to worry about if your extraction looks and tastes good! - Teri

Pods never give crema like pre-ground or freshly ground coffee, providing its the correct grind. Love the machine, the filter is hard to fit correctly but can be 'forced' (only with the 1 or 2 shot baskets in), and it rattles when its in use, but the coffee it makes is lovely. Only use good quality coffee in it

I've had one of these for a while and you can steam milk without the panarello attachment, sometimes it blows the other bit off but most of the time you get far better milk frothing without the attachment (almost microfoam!), I also make sure the light is off before I start steaming so the boiler is constantly working, otherwise it just doesn't have enough power. Need to upgrade soon!

@rickthaler Yes, it's a step up; yes there is a non-pressurized portafilter for it now (and soon there will be a bottomless) but the boiler is still small on these. Maybe a bit bigger than the DeLonghis, but not by much. You can definitely froth that much milk though on the Saecos - Kat

@rickthaler It's hard to control the steam with a machine that has a panarello; you'll really need to swirl the milk and incorporate it together after you're done steaming by swirling it around in the pitcher. You can change the shot flavor by increasing or decreasing the fineness of the grind, that will definitely impact the flavor. Non-pressurized offer the potential for better shots because they require higher end grinders and that's the most important aspect of your setup - Kat

I've seen a pannarello wand before that looks a lot like what that machine uses and the inner piece of the one I saw can actually function as a traditional steam wand.

I don't advice you to buy it. Seriously it's a waste of money. I bought this machine and I really disappointed. This machine is very good in only making espresso, but for steaming the milk it is not good, you can taste the water in the milk and when making cappuccino, its note tasty at all beside there are too much bubbles. Also, you have to clean the filter and the steam part each time you are using the machine and the filter is not easy to open its parts. You can find cheaper machines better than that. This machine is less average for making beverages such as café latte and cappuccino.

Does the water drip slowly out if you don't have coffee in it? If so, then you need to take apart the portafilter and clean it really well / soak the basket. If it comes out fine without coffee then your grind is too fine, you are tamping too hard or you are putting too much coffee in. If you're switching between coffees, this could be the cause - Kat

I've mentioned elsewhere that we bought a Delonghi Dedica in December 2016, but within a couple of hours it leaked from the underneath. Unfortunately the next two replacements also leaked profusely from the same place so we've asked for our money back. Seeing another of your reviews we'd like to get a Breville Duo Temp Pro, but they don't seem to be available here in China, only a much more expensive model. So we're thinking of this Delonghi ECO310. However looking at many reviews it seems to have reliability problems over a 2 year period. Maybe that's OK for a 'cheap' machine. It would be better than our first (a Krups ??? which gave up the ghost after 7 months. The repair man mended a broken hose but said that the boiler/temp control unit was burnt out. Even though made in China they cannot be repaired here and would have to be sent to Hong Kong. The repair man recommended the Delonghi ECO310.) Have you heard of long term problems with this machine? Many thanks.

Just bought one of these machines via eBay this afternoon....for the grand price of £30.00p ($46.74) Only used to make 15 ESE coffees from new, it looks like it came straight out of the box. Compared to my old machine, it's about 500% better....think about the difference between the best toilet paper you can buy and stinging nettles. You get the idea. I'd rate it a 10/10 without hesitation, the 'problem' with the steam wand is caused by people using milk jugs that are too deep, try a smaller jug, it works perfectly well...

@rickthaler There is a significant difference with the Silvia - it's a traditional machine so performs more like a commercial product than any of these consumer appliance grade models do -- so definitely don't discount that. Hi Amirhossein Roudbari, They are both good machines, but we no longer offer the Kmix espresso machine. 613 TRA hi, I the coffee I'm using isn't special at all. I've got it from a Walmart like supermarket called Tesco and I just bought the Tesco brand that says on it it's for espresso:) The tamper is from amazon uk I'm not sure if it's in the USA as well. (I'm assuming you're from the USA) so here's the link to it but if you can't find it, just get anyone the same size, that size fits perfectly Motta Tamper - Flat Base 52mm (Wooden Handle) www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004NZDU3W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_dpDJ3g9GgZ38j Also I bought this grinder after a lot of researching and it's worth every penny. I grind my beans on the finest setting. Bodum Bistro Electric Coffee Grinder - Black www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00525XKL4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_9FPG7uvIK8SuQ Lastly I had a very bad portfilter with my machine so I bought this one from eBay and it works much much better. If your machine comes with one like this with that catch you flip to hold the basket when you empty the used coffee then that's great. If you get a portfilter like mine with spring that catches the basket and sort of jams it in, then I'm afraid it's a rubbish portfilter and it was going to make me change the machine but I luckily found the portfilter Here it is www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112283127530 Let me know how you get on and if you have any problems, happy to help. I'm enjoying very good coffee now after a long journey:)) good luck

Is it possible to buy an unpressurised basket for this machine? I've been looking around for 51mm unpressurised baskets but they don't seem to exist. The UK version has a different body for some reason. Just to check it is a 51mm basket isn't it? As I want to get a proper tamper and I'm hoping that size will fit it properly.

William Fenton Unfortunately we do not know of a non-pressurized portafilter for this machine.

Hi. The basket seems to be 52mm. I got myself a 51mm one (unpressurised) and a 50mm tamper (both off ebay), they're working great.
