I have installed two 40 mm wing nut bolts (with two locked nuts per bolt and a little plastic guard/washers at the wing nut to seal off any mud) to mount/remove the seat. You remove the factory metal seat bracket from the seat pan (two bolts) and reinstall the bracket using the side rack/hold down bolts. Drill two small holes from the top (using the metal bracket as a template, make sure it sits at proper angle, place the seat on it to orient it correctly) through the fender liner. Now you can remove the seat from the bottom, no tools, 30 sec..... I also installed a good size tool tube. Remove the stock tool box, remove the helmet holder (cut a slot in the factory anti theft bolts), there is a nice bracket there. Here I made a small al plate to increase size of the frame bracket to match the "top" plastic mounting bracket of the tool tube. I cut off the "bottom" plastic bracket and made two simple "L" brackets. One is attached to the bottom flat part of the tool tube, the other one is bit longer and is located on top of the plastic that the original tool box was attached. Here the two brackets sandwich the factory plastic. The top part of the longer "L" goes straight up and attaches to a factory metal gusset plate of the rear subframe. I drilled a hole in it, some washers or a spacer is required as the subframe tubes are bit in a way (I guess u could bend the "L" bracket, but I only had very primitive tools). The tool tube tucks in very nicely, is very solid....... For the stand, I used a collapsible paint stick. Drilled few holes in each tube, one bolt and now have a very short and cheap stand.

Great video & thanks for making it. It’s always interesting to see what others carry, what is useful and what isn’t. I’ve puncture repair goo in my inner tubes to try and avoid puncture repairs on the trails.

That’s interesting to hear. We’ve often looked at various versions of that repair stuff and wondered if it worked. I’m thinking it’s a nice insurance policy. Do you think it’s saved you a puncture? Although I guess it’s really hard to tell? We’ll look into it, it’s a neat idea if it works 😊

We’ve really got to say thanks for that comment. It’s one thing for us to film our travels for fun, but we’re always extremely wary about any information videos in case it’s simply not welcomed by people. However we get asked a lot about kit so we’ve been taking chances publishing a few. (Considering going a camping kit one as well) It’s really appreciated, letting us know that you found it interesting Thanks!!

It’s always fascinating to see what other people carry isn’t it! If we are staying in a mainstream campsite and a big GS rolls up and sets up an elaborate, super comfortable camp. We’re always jealous of their set up but really thankful we’re not carrying all their kit on the trails. Then, on the other side, we see a tiny super lightly packed bike on the trails, and we’re really jealous of its handling, but super thankful we’re not travelling that light when we set up for the evening I love how everybody eventually arrives at their perfect solution. We generally find we can pick up a great idea or two when we chat about it with experience travellers. We’ve got a few RallyMoto event videos, and then people have asked us about what camping kit we take. Just before the channel goes quiet for a month or two as we’re travelling. I’m going to see if I can manage to get a camping kit video out. You’ll really laugh at how much stuff we take if you are a super lightweight traveler 😆

I carry some talcum powder to put in the tyre when I change a tube ,to stop friction on the tube when on the move which is quite a bit I Carr a clutch kit and fork seals and wheel bearings some Times you can’t get them in some areas in country’s

@mollygrubber sorry about that. Tool rolls are so variable depending on mechanical skill level etc etc. we are FAR from expert mechanics so didn’t feel we had the expertise in that particular area to offer cast iron solid advice but we probably should have included some ideas etc. we’re getting requests to do more videos on kit (such as what we pack and what we wear riding) so we’ll see if we can include something there once we’re back to the UK for a chunk of time this year 👍🏼

I know what you mean about tubeless. I’m always torn between tubes and tubeless, I can see the advantages in both but every time we get a puncture I curse tubes 🤣 Thanks for the lovely comments 😊

Based on this, I've bought some tyre lube. I think that I'm going to use it on some of my tubeless e-bike tyres too, which are a pain to change. Thanks for the top-tip!

@@wanderinghonda7963 I don't think we're idiots (Im in exactly the same boat!), I think that we just go for a simple solution that's to hand or in the case of the shampoo or chain lube / WD40, what you've got available on the trail. However when I've been sitting on a trail, sweating, with the skin on my knuckles missing, broken tyre levers and new swear words invented, I would happily have paid £10 for a solution!

Great tips on the tire lube, cover and seat elastic ! Just a heads up from the States where Mosko Moto now has a site for used equipment :) they will be opening one in the EU as well. Their gear would be fine to buy used as it is bombproof! I’m sorry to hear you get hit so hard on import duties

Definitely try EBC sintered brake pads. Those red ones are very average.

gloves fall down from my CRF…aaaargh, with the mosko reckless 70 not an easy task to get down to grab the glove… I was dreaming about a long pinch… but the elastic will do it

Hi Craig, yes they’re totally waterproof, we’ve ridden through horrific weather with them for hours on end. There are however two problems with really heavy rain. The first is that we have to take the charging cable out The second is that if it gets torrential the large heavy water drops will sometimes activate the screen which can be a pain 😆

You need a lot of stuff for adventure bikes. Because you don't need what you've taken with you ;-) That Moto Mosko Rackless system is quite expensive. Why no British Kriega system (which I'm thinking about)? Have a gorgeous weekend, Günter/Nürmberg

Hi Günter, I’m sure the kriega system is great they seem a pretty good company! You are right about the Mosko Moto kit being expensive, I would say it is the only bad thing about them We’ve tried so many different luggage systems (I bet you have as well) and we will never go back to anything else. I think there’s a reason they are exceptionally highly rated and everyone loves them. They are indestructible and incredibly well-designed. I just wish they weren’t so expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for Have a fantastic weekend 😊

@@wanderinghonda7963No, actually I have never needed much luggage on a racetrack ;-) I'm fairly new to off-tarmac. Have much less experience than you two. I bought a used Ortlieb for my Transalp 600, which has a rack system. Easy to strap on, does not get grilled by the exhaust. But the ortliebs (or Touratechs as they are called now exclusively for twice the price) definitely needs a rack. I wonder about a rackless system on a CRF 300 L, that doesn't get intimate with the exhaust and doesn't scratch the side panels too much. Seems to be only Kriega OS and Mosko Moto. I don't like the "sad sausage rolls" from Giant Loop or 21 Brothers. For day trips I would use my old hiking rucksack, very comfy. But for longer trips, like ACTs or TETs, maybe with camping gear, I need more space. Happy days, Günter

Hallo Günter, ich nutze seit zwei Jahren die Rhinowalk Sofbags mit 28L und dazu passende Drybags (20L,10L) ebenfalls von Rhinowalk. Bisher funktionieren die richtig gut. Hatte zuvor Kriega Seitentaschen, war aber von der Handhabung nicht überzeugt. Das Anbringen und Abnehmen war doch sehr fisselig. Da wäre Mosko Moto die bessere Alternative. Qualitativ findest Du nix besseres als Mosko Moto und Kriega. Aber für mich aber passt das Rhinowalk-System zu einem Bruchteil der Kosten. Grüße aus Berlin Jörg

Being enthusiastic users of Mosko Moto kit have you any tips of how to buy it in the UK without incurring hideous import duties or do you make special 48 hour trips to the States and buy it in person, or some other way?

I wish we had a method to reduce the horrible import charges etc with Mosko Moto because it’s the one downside to the kit, it’s eye watering price! About twice a year they have a sale with delivery at no cost and usually an additional small discount on the kit. That’s the only time we buy their stuff. It’s still horribly expensive but at least it’s a reduction For us the pain of the cost fades and even after years and years of horrible abuse the kit still functions like new. We’ve just accepted that it’s the cost we pay for the quality of the kit. Sorry we couldn’t be more use

hi love the vids , in the Pyrenees series i saw that one of you was using a lock wire system for security on the mosko reckless bags. having just purchased the same system was wondering how you secured the bags, did you have any issues leaving the bags whilst in petrol stations etc. around Europe.

Thanks for the comment 😊 The side bags don’t really work with any locking system we’ve found. We just try to always be mindful and not leave opportunity for people if we can help it. We always take valuables with us (hence Steffs backpack and Simon’s backpack/vest) but so far we’ve been lucky Sorry we can’t be more helpful. If you find a good method for securing the sidebags we’d love to hear about it please!

Hi 😊 I’m afraid we got ours a few years ago from Thailand. There are now lots of options and I’m sure they all work pretty well Ours were cheap but saved the bikes so many times!

Morning Am totally hooked on your videos. With your tablet taht you use for navigation does it have a SIM card for the gps ?

Good morning, thanks for the very flattering comment! It does have a SIM card (we just use a pay as you go card) but with Guru Maps you can download the maps you need while in WiFi and you don’t need data from the SIM card. When we’re off the tracks and back on tarmac we tend to use Google maps so then SIM card data is used. Hope that helps and I hope you’ll bear with us while we’re travelling and the channel has a small break until I start editing when we’re back in a month or two 😊

Hi .can You tell something about stock chain (did 520vf).Just purchase my 300 rally and try to organise my tool kit.not sure do I need any chain tool also can't find any master link for 520 vf .how long the chain last for You?

Hi, I’m not sure this answer will be particularly helpful, but we don’t carry a chain, or chain tool. I guess it’s personal preference, but I’ve never had a chain go unexpectedly and just about any mechanic in the world can fit me a new chain so we don’t bother carrying one as they are heavy and take up a fair bit of room It’s been a few years now, so difficult to remember exactly, but our chains tend to last 10 or 15,000 km, we try to take care of them Congratulations on your new bike! 😊

No problem, I’m online doing some editing for our camping kit video that’s out in a few weeks 😊 Our bikes have done around 60,000km each so we’ve had a few chain changes. Steff thinks we changed the OEM chain around 8,000km. Sprockets lasted a lot longer but I can’t remember mileage

😂 the channel is just about to start a series as I’m travelling through Sweden and Norway on the trans euro Trail and doing an awful lot of wild camping along the way Although our set up won’t be perfect for everyone, it seems to do us okay and if you want to see it, there is a video on the channel all about our camping kit that we take with us 👍🏼

Hi 😊 I think when we recorded this video we had just changed the rear tyre to a TKC80, and your right, the front was Anakee Wild. There’s a full review of the Anakee wilds (including how long they last) on the channel We thought we’d try a different tyre on the rear (TKC80) and we’ll record how well they wear etc and do another video on them later I hear good things about the AX41 tyres you mentioned. That might be the next tyre we stick on!
