You forgot Irfan Pathan. He was getting compared with Kapil Dev for a while. Instead of focusing on bowling which was his real talent, they pushed him up the batting order. They really tried hard to make him an allrounder. He couldn't succeed in batting. His bowling also suffered. He was dropped. And his career ended in disappointment.

@@atx6249another foolish theory. Irfan form dipped in domestic cricket and so did his pace. He cannot swing anymore. Also too many injuries. Dhoni wouldn't drop an all rounder if he's a proper resource. Doesn't make his job easier, anyway.

Chappel was horrendous for the Indian Cricket. He single handedly destroyed a well established team and soo many careers. But blame goes to bcci as well. Who could have ended his contract earlier or talked to him to amend his ways but they just chose to stand aside and let him destroy the Indian cricket of that era.

Chappel is the worst thing ever happened to Indian Cricket.. It was the innumerable error that curb the Golden Era of Cricket.. 😢.. Your video is like a fanboy story that is far from reality. Greg Chappell was right in his position. It was the players who were unprofessional. The media made him the villain because the players asked them to do so. Ganguly was a very unprofessional player, and his ego was hurt when Greg asked him to drop himself. Senior players were against him, but junior players were in favor of him. Greg was against the superstar culture, and none of the senior players were ready to give that up. Ganguly leaked that email through a Bengali journalist. Ganguly was the real villain in the 2007 World Cup. He played very slowly, and the players who supported him deliberately played slowly and poorly to remove Dravid from captaincy and Greg from coaching.

@@user-kg9jj3xl1h Yes, I have mentioned the Ganguly boys in the comment. They deliberately played poorly to remove Dravid from the captaincy. Greg wanted Sachin to play at number 4 because Ganguly was too slow and needed powerplay field restrictions to score some runs. Ganguly played at a strike rate of just 70, even in the powerplay. Had Dravid dropped him in the World Cup, the result could have been different for India.

No its wrong completely i would say 1. Ganguly refused to resign as captain 2. Ganguly then was unfit and was struggling 3. Dravid was a better choice for captain as ganguly was there captain for about 5 to 6 long years So chapell kept the best in front of him and he was confident but team performed pretty badly

In fact In May 2005 Ganguly asked the selection committee under Kiran More to relieve him of Captain duties but Selection committee refused Saying that it would cause chaos because of John Wright's exit just a week earlier . He clearly mentioned it in his book. Yes, he was badly out of form , Sourav deserved some time out of the team . Dravid was a better choice? Are you sure about that? Dravid was a reluctant captain , he tried to step down thrice in 2 years of his captaincy and ultimately he resigned in 2007. Plus Ganguly was Captain only for 4.5 years and not 6 long yrs .

In my opinion Greg chappell is somewhere right because our senior players at that time are just full of themselves and had a big ego. Greg chappell wanted to organise tough training sessions where every player should be present. But, players like sourav ganguly, sehwag etc doesn't want to train that hard.This same happened with anil kumble because kumble also had same kind of tough appoach towards cricket which doesn't suited virat and co during that time in 2017.
