"Cricket 24 is a bit like English opener Rory Burns. That is, capable of quality play for decent periods - and getting the job done despite looking a little peculiar at times - but a bit too inconsistent overall to be considered an automatic selection. Since developer Big Ant Studios’ has previously displayed a penchant for post-release tweaking, future updates may well address a lot of the lingering issues with licensed players and smooth out the rough edges of its AI and presentation, and in six months’ time this could potentially be a simulation worth going into bat for. However, as of right now Cricket 24 is a disappointingly modest and often slipshod update that seemingly lacks the confidence or creativity to advance further down the wicket."

Cricket deserves a game made by a proper studio. Over the last two releases, Big Ant have demonstrated that they lack the abilty to advance with the standards set by other more popular sports titles. EA used to make cricket games, and if they still were, they would a damn sight better than this

5 rating is a lot for this game, it should be -5 especially because of the attitude of Big Ants CEO who just have one response to all the bugs/issues "please raise a ticket for technical support". Even after the experience of 10+ years they keeps on releasing the half baked games with same bugs everytime and charge full price for it.

As a big cricket fan and gamer, it's pretty sad to see how this series has declined since the Don Bradman days. Enjoyed the review on this one though and, having ditched Cricket 22 after a couple of months, don't think I'll be dipping back in for this one.

A Rory Burns analogy in an IGN video. 10/10. Having tried Cricket 22 on game pass, and being appalled by the random glitch parade after the ball hits the bat, it's safe to say I'll be giving this one a miss. Loved the review. 👍

Another bat and ball game, MLB The Show, is in a separate universe when it comes to ball physics, catching animations and AI. Literally no excuse for the amount of glitches and poor fielder behavior in this one. Cricket fans should be pretty annoyed, this reminds me of the MLB 2K fiasco where things look nice...until people move...

Heard rumors it will run better on PS2. Apparently, the PS2 CPU is weak enough to actually ignore AI programming and make fielders sprint until they reach their target.

After all the patches and not have played Cricket 22, cricket 24 is a lot of fun and worth buying if you’re a cricket fan. Hopefully further patches and more licensed content will take place. Has real potential to be amazing

After seeing your review Ross will say please raise a ticket on big ant portal…the fact that the CEO of the company is asking the gamers to raise ticket for some very visible bugs is a JOKE…Cricket 22 was disappointing…Cricket 24 is a Disaster…i dont know how many updates they will come up with and numerous patches that will run down the line…but if day 1 of the game looks like a ps3 game then its an absolute shame
