Hi I love ur vids . I keep getting out to good length deliveries not knowing weather to come foward or back could you help me out. BTW they are often quick bowlers and the hits top of off. Thanks

Lyle L maybe try open up your stance a little to get both eyes looking down the wicket . Even Sachin had a spell late in his career where he got bowled through the gate a few too many times . It’s what he did on advice from azzahrudin I believe . Keep head still play later and maybe the in between length you could decide to play back and across depending on the ( wicket and bounce ) instead of caught in-between or driving with a Gate.

Hey mate i have a quick question for you so you are saying that while playing this short our weight should be on backfoot and we should be going back in across but when i practice this drill with my coach he always tell to me that don't go back just stay stand in your position and then hit the bowl and when i ask him why shouldn't i go back then he gives me the reason that when you will face 135kph plus speed you will not have time to go in to the backfoot you have to play the short from your position. Any feedback you could give me about the same ?

U r right!! We don’t get time to get back. Sometimes just the weight transfer is enough. But I feel, we don’t need to go deep into it. Our body would react accordingly to the balls and the nature of the wicket.

Just keep practicing under arm drills. Work on hitting the ball late to hit it along the ground.
