Very few people really appreciate what this man has done for SA. Came in as captain under immense pressure. Unjustifiably criticized by the SA public throughout his career. The undeniable truth is that he set the standard for TEST cricket in SA.He Demanded consistency and professionalism from his team mates every game. I never watched test cricket before 2007 thought it was a pretty boring sport, but Greame Smith's proteas from 07 onto his retirement produced some of the most fascinating cricket in the history of the game. Winning consecutive tours of Australia and England is pretty rare, the last team to do that other than Gream Smith's Proteas are the Legendary West Indians. I hope SA make use of his insight to resurrect the game in SA.
