You have no idea,a small piece of paper can change the course of the game.. Those papers(sandpaper) was illegally used on the ball to give it more swing and seam which makes it pretty difficult for the batters to bat when the ball is traveling at 140+ km/hr..it can make a huge impact in the game.. Earlier bowlers were allowed to use saliva to give a shine on one half of the ball(for reverse swing) but after covid,use of saliva is also prohibited ...

1:55 I think that they do wear abdominal guards for their genitalia. The thing is, a ball travelling at 80+ miles an hour, even if it hits an abdominal guard, does hurt really bad, simply from the impact shockwave on the box.

@@harshit6045 not all the fielders. Apart from the batsmen, the wicket-keeper and the close-up fielders wear the abdominal guard. But still it will certainly hurt when a ball hit in such a speed hits their private area

Ball tempering is a serious crime in cricket.When Australian player doing this and caught he is suspended for 6 month and his captain and vice captain suspended for 12 month.

They were only suspended for the standard one match by the ICC. It was Cricket Australia that gave the big suspension. We take tampering seriously, the rest of the world does not. There have been several players caught ball tampering after this that only got small suspensions.

@@UmpireStrikesBack I'm 70 and I can assure you we have been through multiple issues of ball tampering from metal bottle tops, sharpened fingernails, vaseline gel, seam cutting, sugary sweets, rubbing the ball on brick walls, concrete, soil, nail files, many other things and no doubt things I have never dreamed of. It is not a new thing.

“TAMPARING" is the most contraversial thing in cricket and also meant to be crime. Because it (Tampering)the ball may help the BOWLER to swing the ball more when he is bowling, that the BATSMAN could not estimate the ball direction (confuses the batsman) so easily and gets out most of the time (70% chance)..

'Ball Tempering' is a very serious charge. And it's not like, football were tampering doesn't matter much, But in cricket it matters the most, because slight change in the texture of ball can change the whole game, because Ball Spin is very big thing.

Batsman wears abdominal guards. But the fielders don't cause they have to run, jump and slide while fielding. But even with abdominal guards, a fast ball would definitely hurt if hits directly in the p*nis. Although the guard would protect from any permanent or life threatening damage, but it still hurts as hell.

A cricket ball starts out as smooth and shiny on both sides (of the half-seam). Swing bowlers will endeavour to keep one side smooth and shiny whilst the side roughs up naturally in contact with the hard ground. This affects the flow of air over the ball in flight so that in the hands of a skilled bowler it will deviate laterally. There are various procedures to extend or increase this effect by means that are not "natural" and are classed as 'illegal' in the laws of the game!

99.99% of batsmen, wicket-keepers, and close fielders in front or 'square of the batsman do wear 'boxes' (abdominal protectors) what you call "cups." it still hurts when hit there but is nothing like being hit there without one. Slip fielders (the close catchers behind and to the left or right of the keeper) may or may not wear them. I always wore a box from start to finish of a cricket match, I know a younger player who never did, 2 years ago he got hit, whilst batting without one, and he had to 'retire hurt' and missed the next two Saturday league games before he was able to play again; the consequences could have been far worse than that! Who knows, they still might prove to be so!

In cricket, unlike baseball, ball seam, surface, material and shine makes so much difference. What they’re doing there is change condition of ball to doctor it to help their pitchers and that’s illegal - hence the scrutiny and the term cheating

Rubbing the cricket leather ball even for a few seconds can change the nature of the ball ( mainly like damaging it and making it more worse for the batsman to face it ) . And about the first video , batsman do wear a abdomen guard ( it's a must and its in rules book ) . And so do the fielders at Silly point etc .

You cannot use an outside substance to change condition of the ball.. rubbing sandpaper on one side of ball makes it reverse earlier than it naturally does . It's basically a crime in cricket. It's so dumb how Bancroft thought he could get away with hundred cameras(including cable cameras and mobile cameras running outside boundary rope) in cricket where even a Nick from bat can be traced.

CRICKETERS DO WEAR ABDOMEN GAURDS(or cups as you like to call it). they even have chest plates as an option! They can be worn by anybody, at the cost of restriction/difficulty in movement. hence, it's usually the batsman who is the most padded. he may even remove some of his padding and helmet if he's facking a spinner. who bowl slow balls
