बड़े हैरानी है कि 250 वनडे और 60 टेस्ट मैच खेलने के बाद भी एजाज अहमद को पाकिस्तान टीम की कप्तानी करने का कभी मौका नहीं मिला. एजाज अहमद ने 1986- 2001 तक पाकिस्तान के लिए क्रिकेट खेली. जबकि एजाज से जूनियर वकार यूनुस 1989, आमिर सोहेल 1990, मोइन खान 1990, इंजमाम 1990 और राशिद लतीफ 1992 जैसे प्लेयर्स जल्दी ही पाकिस्तान के कप्तान भी बन गए और इनमें से कुछ लोगों की कप्तानी में वह खेले भी थे. हो सकता है कि एजाज की इनकंसिस्टेंट परफॉर्मेंस के कारण भी इनको टीम का कप्तान ना बनाया गया हो क्योंकि 1992 से 1994 तक टीम से बाहर रहे. एजाज इमरान खान के काफी फेवरेट रहे 1986 से 1992 वर्ल्ड कप तक इमरान ने उन पर काफी भरोसा दिखाया, लेकिन 92 वर्ल्ड कप के बाद जावेद मियादाद ने कप्तान बनते ही एजाज को टीम से बाहर करवा दिया लेकिन फिर 1994 में सलीम मलिक की कप्तानी में मंडेला ट्रॉफी में एजाज अहमद का कम बैक हुआ.

Intersting circumstances for this series😮 "Pakistan won the ODI series 1-0. The first match, scheduled for 30 September 1988, at the Jinnah Stadium in Gujranwala was abandoned due to the ground flooding. The second match, originally scheduled to be played at the National Stadium in Karachi on 14 October 1988, and the third one-day match, scheduled to be played at Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad on 15 October 1988, were both abandoned as well due to riots. As a result, the scheduled rest day of the Lahore Test was cancelled and a one-day international scheduled for 13 October for Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. That match as then played a day later."

When this ODI was played as per the commentators Pak had won 10 matches and Aus 8. Pakistan were ahead despite the fact that they mostly played in Aus. 1981/82 WSC in Aus 1983/84 WSC in Aus World Championship 1985 Aus Perth Challenge 1987 Aus Yet Pak was ahead 👏

@@cricketkingzohaib Exactly brother. Infact from the 92/93 WSC we started to loose more often. Except for the 96/97 WSC where we won 3-1 against Aus and the 2002 ODI series in Aus hardly anything is worth discussing.

Pakistan should not have lost the semifinal to Australia in 1987 that was a bitter moment. Although pakistan took revenge in 1992 World Cup and knocked Australia out but that semifinal loss dented our dominance on them big time.
