What fighting spirit? This is the team that gave up all fighting spirit against freakin Bangladesh, then in a do or die match vs SL in the ODI world Cup that happened a couple of month before this series & knocked out embarrassingly in group stage. A year before in 2006, with a stacked squad this Indian team couldn't even reach semifinals in champions trophy 2006 which happened in India itself. This teams luck wouldn't change until Dhoni became captain. Stop riding on nostalgia & trying to see everything with rose tinted glass.

This match was played in 2008 when i was just 9 years and i am in class 3rd . I started watching cricket kinely around 2004 and 2005 bcos of my father bcos he also love cricket very much . This was Last 100 runs Partnership b/w Sachin And Sourav. Those were the days where we actually enjoy the cricket , coming from School then watching remaining inning of a match with eating food and after that we took our bat and bowl and enjoy the cricket into the field . No social media , no nonsense things nothing just enjoy the cricket going to school and playing the cricket after coming from school and We are also eagerly waiting for Sunday and some festival holidays so that we can play cricket all the day. Those were the days . Woh bhi kya din the❤❤❤

Right that's what people need to understand they need good quality anchors like Kohli ,root ,Smith ,Iyer , Babar ,Rahul in odis although these guys aren't really lethal like maxwell or sky these guys do not play dot balls and defend on strike rotation and if they stay till the end take the score to 350+ which is a good score in odi for any decent bowling line because unlike T20 I where even scores of 200+ aren't safe 350 is a good score in ODIs even more than 300 because when the team looses wickets they play dot balls and the asking rate starts rising

Rahul Dravid is a legendary batsman, no doubt.... But he lost us quite a few odi games with his momentum-killing innings... Its not about stats, its just that in those moments when somebody comes out to bat, you need to carry the momentum... I have seen quite a few odi matches being lost because of his momentum-killing innings... These are the things that you can't see in stats

Dravid was in his decline here he was kicked out from odi after this series and ganguly after pakistan series after this, dhoni went with sachin sehwag as opener and gambhi at 3.

@@gubbas1985 He gave up his captaincy coz India was trash under just like he is as a coach. Remember 2007 wc and 2006 champions trophy India were out of first round. As for his odi batting he played 6 games in that series and was out in single digit in 5 of them. Hence team management decided to drop him and go with youth which benefitted India and we won 2008 cb series in Australia
