Knowing how great Michael Madsen was as Daud in Dishonored, I feel like the weak performances here probably have a lot to do with the script, voice direction, and means by which the recording process was handled.

Apart from the terrible voice acting in dialogues I’m loving the game. I don’t understand why people trashing this game. I think a lot of people fail to realise that’s this is single player game with a coop features and not the other way around. It has a nice kinda unique single player campaign which pay day doesn’t have. I’ve had 100s of hours on pay day 2 and I like crime boss more and if you don’t have many friends to play coop with but think you will like the setting and the gameplay you should definitely try this one out. This game is a breath of fresh air in an era of copy paste. We should welcome new ideas, new ips even with their flaws, not trash them and doom them to failure so everybody else will be scared to try and create something new and fresh until big AAA companies will have a full monopoly and we will be only playing call of duty’s and assassins creeds

Would've made sense as some sort of PayDay 3 Crossover DLC not as a whole/standalone-esque game, seems like it needed a year or more budget on its finishing.

I remember seeing the trailer when it first dropped and was actually feeling hype due the cast alone. There's some very charismatic talent in that list, Rooker, Madsen, Basinger, Glover..... As a 90's teen (And a big Payday fan) that trailer spoke to me in a way most don't. It was pure schlock and I loved every minute of it. Seems like the perfect budget game personally. Can see myself picking it up at a lower price, maybe when it hits Steam. Nothing wrong with some mid tier mindless action.

You know what - this was 20 bucks where I live & I'm having fun. It's certainly not one for the ages, but in the same way I occasionally love a trashy B Movie, I am enjoying this game for what it is.

As a pay day and saints row fan I see no problems with this game had a lot of fun playing definitely intended to be played with other human beings and not just bots but the AI for your team mates is genuinely better than the AI in pay day 2 by far it’s not like it’s a 60 dollar game anyways it’s definitely worth the reduced price for anyone who found games like Skyrim to be charming the bugs really aren’t an issue

You dont provide any evidence for a lot of things you say, you dont use clips to make your point, and you skip past things after calling them bad and not explaining why they are. I’d say I was shocked by this, but truthfully I’m not. Nothing I’d ever seen from the game made me catch interest in the project. I’m sure it’ll find its audience small or otherwise, but I’m definitely passing on this one.

April will be Dead Island and Jedi Survivor, if I Platinum RE4 before hand. This looked really interesting, but usually it's easy to make cenimatics look good, then the actual game turns out mid or worse, like the division for me. So I'll be skipping this one. Such a shame, the cast looked so good too. Hey old school lines aren't bad. Nothing wrong with dakr jokes, etc.

Im really enjoying the game. I dont understand why people (reviewers, youtubers, etc) are so inclined to trash it... It has is flaws, but its funny and has good gunplay. I believe people were expecting a GTA kind of game and got disapointed on having a Payday kind of game.

I completely disagree. For me, this is the best game of 2023 so far. Friendly dynamic randomly generated campaign for a solo player + co-op mode for 4 people (also mixed squads of players + AI). Randomly generated patrols, civilian patrols around banks, doors, camera placement, even ship moorings and much more give this game an incredible level of replayability. AI is great and on 2nd place after The Division 2 in the whole gaming industry (we talk here about dynamic non-scripted AI). AI that uses covers on both sides. Enemies are not only police but also other rival gangs. Campaigns are repeated after each defeat (Chuck Norris will finally get us) but we are stronger each time as well as our army (perks). We are generously rewarded after a defeat - a roguelike system. I've never been a fan of roguelite games, but this is the first one I fell in love with. The next time you join the campaign, even the district of our HQ may be different. The randomness in this 3D game is endearing. Graphics at the highest next-gen level. Nvidia DLSS, DLAA, Reflex. The shooting feeling is wonderful and the best next to Destiny 2. There are bugs as everywhere but they don't affect the enjoyment of this game. A great game at a reasonable price. Players say that games are always the same and repeat the same ideas, and when they get something completely unique, it turns out that they expect known solutions. Because of this, cool co-op games like Syndiicate (2012) Evolve, Anthem or The Division get poor or medicore reviews for their uniqueness. It's a punishment for someone proposing something that players haven't known before. After such an approach, don't expect to get something special. This causes that instead of developing ideas, these projects are killed before they mature. Sry for my bad english- is not my native language.

Dude, they didn't use the actors as VO. They used their likeness, and used AI to do the voices. That is why they sound so stunted. That is my theory anyways.

Lol could've done without the whining about muh "poor representation and objectification". Still, I don't like rougelikes and the gameplay looks like trash, so the score might be a reasonable fit. Maybe I'll try it when it's on Game pass or in the bargain bin.

Seems boring, bad voice acting, characters never stop talking, can't tell the difference between enemies and teammates, repetitive gameplay, simplistic and uncreative upgrades, seems like dudes can just spawn into you and ruin immersion, lack of options/unique situations, generally non-interesting story progression and lackluster, derivative cutscenes with unbearable dialog and vomit inducing voice of the protagonist. Just another copy-paste of a generic, overused game-style pumped full of celebrities to sell copies. Terrible game, 0/10. Would never complete on my own.
