This show was the Breaking Bad of it's day, great acting, story, writing, cinematography, and of course a budget to match. It is a real tragedy that it only lasted two seasons.

The first season was best. The second season got weird and the filming was "brighter".

Yeah when they made the move to Las Vegas the show for me just wasn't the same, although I did love a couple of bits like when Paulie gets the bright idea to take an unconscious and wounded Luca to a makeshift constructed house right in the Ground Zero middle of a nuclear A-Bomb testing range, and Luca wakes up and figures out where they are and is just about to kill Paulie when the bomb goes off. X-D Does anyone else remember that bit? It ought be a KZfaq video.

When I was a teenager in the 80s, my mom and I would watch this together. She told me a lot of stuff from her early years which happened during this decade. It helped bring us together. I never hear the theme without remembering when we both were younger and life seemed unlimited. How I wish the younger generations could enjoy the way we lived then.

Three famous rock and roll musicians of the past contributed to Crime Story: Del Shannon sang a revised version of his hit "Runaway" as the theme song, and Todd Rundgren started the musical direction of the series, with Al Kooper taking over as the series musical director. While early episodes played music of the era or earlier, Kooper later allowed tunes from years after 1963 to appear on the soundtrack.

This T.V. show was too brilliant for its time. If it were released today on cable (AMC) or on Netflix, it would be huge. I remember watching this show as a child and couldn't understand why it was canceled so soon. I would suggest a reboot, but Dennis Farina is irreplaceable. P.S.: Did you know Ted Levine and Andrew Dice Clay were also part of this cast?

SteVen Romero Did ever notice how Ray Luca's fender style hair do never went out of place in all his ass kickin's? I used to use a hair whacker out of a tube. It was pretty popular back then. It was thick enough to put in your grease gun. heh heh. Can't think of the name of it though. A gold and black tube.

- This one was a good series and much because of Mr. Farina was a real Policeman. That created a certain "authentic aura" around scenes. Not a typical case in this sense although the genre in itself is popular, also here in Europe.
@tieroneactual22282 жыл бұрын
Great video with the old Ford just getting the power to the rear wheels! And a armed robbery scene where the bad guys are not telling people to give up their cell phones. At 0:55 the bad guy has the 1911 with the hammer back, which is the way it should be, then at 1:59 the guy in the rear seat of the Ford pulls the charging handle of the M1 Carbine to chamber a round then Torello pulls the slide of his 1911 then engages the Thumb Safety after a round is chambered. To bad that show didn’t go on for a few more years!
