Having left the hollers of Kentucky 15 years ago, Raylan Givens now lives in Miami, a walking anachronism balancing his life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time father of a 15-year-old girl. His hair is grayer, his hat is dirtier, and the road in front of him is suddenly a lot shorter than the road behind. A chance encounter on a desolate Florida highway sends him to Detroit. There he crosses paths with Clement Mansell, aka The Oklahoma Wildman, a violent, sociopathic desperado who's already slipped through the fingers of Detroit's finest once and aims to do so again. Mansell's attorney, formidable Motor City native Carolyn Wilder, has every intention of representing her client, even as she finds herself caught between cop and criminal, with her own game afoot as well. These three characters set out on a collision course in classic Elmore Leonard fashion, to see who makes it out of the City Primeval alive.

The Raymond referred to is the original protagonist of Elmore Leonard's City Primeval, a heckuva a great read...as a bonus the actor who plays Raymond is from yet another movie based on an Elmore Leonard novel.

Best short I have seen of what I have heard is a pretty awful series. The actors mostly seem up to snuff in this short. So it seems that this s*cks due to pinching pennies on the writers.

Maybe you should watch the series and form your own opinion. Critics are generally uptight buttmunchers. Good life advice I suppose, maybe see for yourself and decide what YOU think instead of taking the word of internet mouthbreathers. The show wasn't bad. Not as good as the original of course (but in the next season if it happens, maybe we get Boyd--that would improve it). What made the writing seem so good was how the actors worked with it. Especially Olyphant and Goggins. So yeah, check it out if you like Justified, maybe you'll find some elements that you like and realize it's not all "trash" as some wannabe edgelords/critics would have you believe.
