Analogue signal interference, makes me remember the days when either a screwdriver or a wire hangar were the only alternatives to having a TV without a Ariel lead.

Eldorado trailer at the beginning..perhaps the biggest crime of all. Spending 10 million of licence fee payers' money on that crap.

If Crimewatch were to cover an incident involving a missing child, a travelling fair, a Sierra RS500 Cosworth, and a Securicor blag. it would be like some sort of über Crimewatch compendium...

The videofit of the ginger haired man in the first case looks like Kathy Burke's character in "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme'

I clearly remember watching this one when I was 12, because of the the Towler case. I had relatives in Bradford and we went there regularly throughout the '80s and '90s, so I distinctly remember seeing the Hare and Hounds pub in this episode (we used to pass that pub a lot). I also remember seeing the tomato soup mug in the reconstruction - I saw some of those soup mugs in a charity shop the other day and was wondering when the "soup mug reconstruction" would be shown. That minor mystery is solved. Alas, it seems that Michael Towler's murder still isn't. It's strange that, in the intro to the reconstruction, Nick Ross mentions the possibility of a partner of Michael being responsible, but not a homophobic attacker.

How to survive according to Crimewatch: don't live alone, don't have money (and live alone), don't be young, female and go out at night (or live alone), don't be gay and live alone, don't be elderly and live alone or have money, don't work for a security firm or shop that handles large amounts of money, don't be a kid, don't ever open your car door, basically...

Can anyone explain why some crimes get a reconstruction and some only appear on the incident desk?

'The attacks seemed to be random between 5 and 10 in the evening.' 'All happened on the redways.' That sounds more like a pattern than random.
